It takes a certain type of viewer, I guess. But I teared up three times in the final episode, lol. Very beautiful and unique depiction of possible way of life after a near extinction event (virus).

It was a little too on-the-nose considering current circumstances for comfort at times.
But I would agree. Definitely one of the best series' I've seen. I loved it.
Fun fact, its about a Global Pandemic.
They started shooting it pre-pandemic and continued shooting it concurrent-pandemic.
That must have been wild for the showrunners making a show about what is essentially actually happening all around them.

Yeah, it was really weird that art became reality while they were filming, but the end result was very nice. Put our real world to shame in terms of coming together and helping one and other through everyone's individual strengths, rather than whatever the hell our society is doing to each other right now.

Oh I agree, I also agree with a lot of your comments about how it takes a 'certain kind of viewer.'
The friends who recommended it to us was like it was a more modern 'Walking Dead.'
But it wasnt that at all. So if people went in expecting that then they were absolutely going to be disappointed.
I dont want to spoil anything, but its a nice, long, slow burning show but it wraps everything up beautifully at the end. That final episode slayed me. It was so, so good.
In the end, its a story about people.
In terms of all-time mini-series' its definitely up there.
Anyways, I really, really enjoyed it.

You talking about RBW? If so yes. The visuals in general are incredibly ambitious they pull it off.

I listened to a podcast with one of the producers of Station Eleven who essentially rescued it from a floundering movie production.
At that time (2014), limited series were not really a thing. He said True Detective changed the game and made the case for limited series.
And thank you for that! Looking back at the last 5 years, i would be hard-pressed to put a non-limited series in my top 5.

Watching Dopesick on Disney+ Just fantastic, but horrific at the same time, and watching the beginning of the opioid crisis and the outright lies Perdue Pharma told in 1997, and knowing that this is STILL before the courts currently is absolutely sickening and horrific- A bit slow but easy to watch and very well done

Tubi just posted up the 2 seasons of the rebooted V.
I enjoyed the series for the most part, but it got cancelled after a really good dark final episode.

Yeah totally unnecessary but I’m cautiously optimistic.

Futurama is one of the best comedy shows of all time.
In terms of pure quality and consistency it might be tops in my books. I'm thrilled!

It's pretty crazy to think it started in 1999, ten years after the Simpsons. And now, in 2022, both will still be making new episodes.
With Disney+, I've started watching both series (again) from the beginning.
I set a fun goal of trying to watch every Simpsons episode in order in 2022, but considering there are like 700 episodes, that would translate to watching two episodes every single day for a year. So nearly virtually impossible unless you're a total couch potato.

John DiMaggio hasn’t signed on to do Bender yet. Hopefully that gets sorted out because the show wouldn’t be the same without him.

So happy to hear about Futurama coming back. I would expect the new season to be available on Disney+ here?

I would think so. Most of the new Hulu-exclusives have been showing up on Disney+. The only ones that aren't are the ones that aren't outright owned by Disney/Fox or that have Canadian distribution deals that predate Disney+.
Futurama was always a 20th Television production, so the first part shouldn't be a problem. It's been off the air so long that any old contract should be expired, but you never know.

More than that, he did a ton of side character voices. You could lose someone like Katy Segal (which would still suck) and not be too bad off because that's just Lela, but so many peripheral characters will sound off if DiMaggio doesn't come back

Sounds like DiMaggio is currently negotiating his contract.
He does voices on Groening's Netflix show Disenchantment, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Thanks for the recommendation for Dopesick.
I echo your sentiments. Fantastic but horrific at the same time.
