I put this in the thread about caring for the elderly too but it belongs here as well. The report the military made on conditions the soldiers saw while working in long term care homes in Ontario during this crisis is absolutely revolting.
My daughter-in-law read the entire report. Staff reusing syringes and catheters! Residents not bathed for weeks,laying in filth, cockroach infestations, fecal contamination everywhere.
An aggressive resident being allowed to feed another causing that person to choke.
Allowing “for profit” long term care is just a license to abuse our vulnerable elderly apparently.
Disgusting. I wonder how Doug Ford will weasel out of this one?

Doug Ford? He hasn't even been in office two years...
Seems more likely that these conditions materialized during the 15 years of Liberal government prior to Doug Ford

Doug Ford became premier in June 2018, when comprehensive inspections dropped to half of the prior years. 2019, only 9 facilities received full inspection.

I missed the part about them making money off his adoption. Was it the "like this video" comment? Lots of people give up their autistic children in the hope of more adequate help for the kid. I'm not lining up to take care of anyone's kid with special needs, and their are lots of them in Alberta. So I don't have much to say about that.

This isn’t a dog or a car. It was a child.
Adopt a child, exploit him for views and money, then give him away after years and immediately update your Twitter account from five to four children? Disgusting.
Sounds like the child is with a better family, hopefully it works out better for him and is the right call in the long run but I have no problem criticizing that family. They ####ed up either adopting a young child or giving him away and both actions could have huge ramifications on the kid.

People do this with their own kids all the time. These people didn't sign up for a special needs kid. His condition manifested after the adoption. And they gave him to someone who was more willing and able to take care of him. He's likely in a good, better, best situation now. Are you going to yell at the thousands of people who have given up their special needs kids in Alberta too? It's not like this is unique in any way. I guess if it is all a plot to get Youtube hits that would be distasteful. But when you live your life on Youtube it would include this entire thing.

I really don’t understand it, but that time served multiplier (1.5) is commonplace during your trial. I don’t understand it’s function.
