I think I’m bad luck for Taiwan.
I lived there from 2011-2015. After moving away, Typhoon Soudelor hit, the most damaging typhoon in years.
Moved back in 2016, lived there until 2023. Moved to Chicago and now Taiwan gets the strongest earthquake in 25 years.
Fortunately everyone I know is safe and sound, and other than a few spots on the relatively sparsely-populated east coast, things are back to normal.

Wife mentioned sweeping up peanut shells off the front deck the other day, and I filled in a hole under the steps over the weekend too. My guess is someone in the neighborhood has been leaving food out for animals and he had a stash or a nest or something where I filled the hole. Hope there's no babies in there

If you really look around when stopped at busy intersections you will notice a lot of people picking their nose. I saw several people yesterday and a couple were really digging hard.
