Round two of the Baby Battle of Alberta is on tonight at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer at 7:00 PM MDT.

The game will be live-streamed on CalgaryFlames.com, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

Tonight marks the end of prospects training camp as it will shift into main camp.

Ernst, McMurty in. Mangiapane, Foo out.
Not a big deal. Mangiapane and Foo will get actual preseason games.

Parsons will start the game and halfway through the game they will switch to McDonald in net.


The Oilers will not be dressing Bouchard and Jones. Expected to start Rodrigue in net.

To be clear, I was assuming when it came to line combinations. All of these players should be dressed. It is yet to be confirmed what the line configurations will look like.

A rookie tournament in Red Deer is about as far removed from "critical situations" for these players as one can get. I imagine this is about coaches wanting to see more from other prospects in different situations. Foo and Mangiapane are likely to be late camp cuts, if they don't push for roster spots, so this is the definition of a meaningless game for their part.

I look forward to watching Adam Ruzicka play tonight. Last game he was saddled with Yasin Ehliz and Zach Fischer who I thought both played poorly last Sunday. D'Artagnan Joly however, played with lots of jam, so it should be interesting to see how this new look shapes up and if either player will get a longer look in the pre-season. Both Joly and Ruzicka are commited to returning to the CHL.
