Yeah as an Astros fan kind of hope the A's cool off. And the Astros need to get healthy and start hitting consistently.

Two other fun facts about that team: Their 101 road losses is a literally unbreakable record, and their average attendance was 145. Which is why they were able to lose that many road games - other teams refused to travel to Cleveland.

Oh Mets! They lost in the 13th inning to SF, dropping a routine pop-fly.

Ronald Acuña Jr. just hit his 6th leadoff HR of the season, 2nd-most in Braves history. The team record is 7, set by Marquis Grissom in 1996.
Acuña (20 HR) & Ozzie Albies (21 HR) are the 1st pair of teammates in MLB history, both under 22, with at least 20 HR in a season.

It's almost amazing that there could be 9 to 10 teams worse than the Blue Jays are this year. Could be like 6 teams lose 100 or more games. Tanking has arrived in Baseball.
In the AL the playoff race the Mariners have faded a bit. Tampa Bay has actually improved since trading Archer. But I think they are too far back to run down the A's. The Rays might pass the M's though. Oakland might continue to push the Astro's too but ultimately I think Houston holds them off for the Division.
At least the NL has races in all three Divisions and both wild card spots in play. The West is probably the best Division race. But the Rockies, DBacks, Dodgers, Cards, and Brewers are all really close right now with the Phillips hanging there too.

Matt Kemp with walk off hits in back to back games have the Dodgers back in first place. The tight playoff races are going to make September games super fun to watch.

With their win today, the Nationals now have a 69-69 record.

Lol this Atlanta/Arizona series was big play after big play from guys Dave Stewart and Tony La Russa traded away where they got nothing in return. They need a partial playoff share.

It's been disappointing watching Arizona lose so many critical games of late, especially their recent series with the Dodgers. Their bullpen has sucked, namely Archie Bradley. The NL West is so close, I think that losing those critical games against the Dodgers may burn them in the end. Big series against the Rockies this week which may ultimately decide their playoff hopes.

So the AL playoffs are set.
A's/Yanks in WC game...winner gets the Red Sox.
Indians/Astros in the other.
Hard to see anyone beating Boston but that's why they play the games.

Boston is very beatable IMO. The Astros pitching is going to be tough to beat in a playoff series, but I could see Yanks, Indians, Astros or Red Sox in the World Series.

NL teams are determined. Now it's a matter of LA or Colorado winning the NL West and who is 2nd wild card.

Also TBD is the Cubs or Brewers as NL central winners/WC 1.

Yeah that's right Brewers have been hot down the stretch and the Cbus have been so so.
Have to think that Christian Yelling will end up as the NL MVP. He's two RBI short of the Old triple crown, is 4th in OBP, Leads in slugging and OPS, and is tied for 1st in runs.
