Wasn't the figure ~$1,000,000 added revenue for every playoff game? not to mention the trade of our first round pick.
skimping on a coach is extremely short sighted.

He should have been fired a long time ago. Actually, he should have never been hired in the first place.

I have been a "stay the course" guy for a while now, but I too am growing tired of the underperforming team. It is frustrating knowing the team can be so much better.

On the other hand, I am trying to keep some perspective. There are very few teams that are running away with their divisions. Flames are one point out of 3rd in the Pacific and a wildcard. They are jammed in a tight group with some very good (but also inconsistent) teams like Anaheim, Minnesota, San Jose, Chicago. Calgary still controls their destiny.

Can they get it together? I still think they can and I look forward to the back half of the season.

If they fail it will be a very tough pill to swallow, but for now I am keeping the faith, even in the face of the reality that there is a lot of underperformance and some obvious coaching issues.

As to the OP, if Sutter is available then I think pretty hard about it; otherwise, give GG the season.

Well since my question wasn't answered, I'm going to go with no as I don't think we should fire him YET. I would be very worried about Dave Cameron being the replacement for the rest of the season. Depending on whether we turn it around, fire him at the season's end.

Estrada said it better than I could but to reiterate - its been a year and a half.

In my opinion its not going to get any better.

Also teams clearly gameplan for the Flames. I don't see the Flames gameplanning for specific teams. The only time the Flames seem to have an edge oddly enough is on the road when Gulutzan can't control the matchups.

Just imagine if Edwards' investment banker was as slow to react as Gulutzan. He'd be fricken broke.

I'd like to buy another hundred shares of Brouwer on my powerplay, please!

I am not sure if they should fire him, but they likely don’t have much time left to make a decision before the season is lost

My worry is that a new coach won't make a difference because of who is hiring him. Is Brodie a RD? Does our defense need to jump up as a second wave more? Even if the answer is obvious, management is just as resistant to these ideas as coaching staff.

I am all for seeing Gully Gone but we need to trade Hamonic for a LHD first and a coach who will utilize all five players offensively needs to be available.

Wow, 75% in favour so far, and that's with posters who likely will but don't want to say yes just yet and an Oilers fan (likely to be followed by more) voting no.

I voted no for now. I really think this team rallies in the 2nd half like they always seem to do. But if we’re still not in a playoff spot by mid-late January, bye bye.

1 step forward 2 steps back since he's been in charge. Swept in the first round and now .500 with a team that shipped out its first round pick in the offseason. Not to mention he cannot beat the Oilers. Don't know what he did in Van to land this job tbh

To me, this team simply cannot afford to be outside the playoffs, between the revenue hit and the lost first round pick.

This team has underperformed almost the entire season and is artificially propped up on Smith and the first line.

Ruined an exciting young team. Him and his system need to hit the road! Hartley should of never been fired. That said, they better not bring in another coach with a boring system, or promote from the inside. Sutter’s system isn’t that exciting, but he won’t tolerate lazy play and you need a coach players will go through walls for. I wouldn’t even get out of bed for Gully.
