I used to regularly attend games in Philly the fans are straight up goons. And those are the nice ones. You'll generally be fine in the arena but after the game you best hide your jersey and get the #### out of there ASAP.

Flames tickets are ridiculously expensive, even the nosebleeds, when you factor in my airfare.

Edit: and my beer and 20/20s

I have a pay a Sherpa guide and feed the pack mules to get me from High River to Calgary. They don't come cheap these days.

One of the things that grinds my gears here for fans is when people speak in absolutes:
That player will NEVER sign there.
That player will never take less than 5.5m.
That trade will NEVER happen.

For example. A broken down Lindholm will NEVER return a 1st plus decent prospect plus 39 goal scorer plus 4th round pick plus another asset.

Crazy sh$& happens in the NHL all the time. So stop thinking that you are “all knowledgeable all wise” prophet. You honestly don’t really know if that will happen. So try some words like “unlikely” or “in my opinion”

Philips will NEVER be an nhl player.
Who the F knows. Maybe he will bounce back in a big way one day..

Bennet would have NEVER thrived here. Who the hell knows, he might have.

Desimone won’t get picked up. Hmm maybe he will.

Hate those absolutes. /rant

This is one of my experiences with a “flames fan”.

I had just arrived in Saskatchewan to visit my mom who had stage 4 ovarian cancer and we had to go to Calgary so she could get some chemotherapy. It was around 9 pm and we went to a dungy Boston pizza so we could gamble some vlts which is something she loved to do. She was obviously sick and I was sitting in a tall chair beside her watching. I had about $500 in $50’s in my pocket and I went to pay the bill. I came back to the chair, sat down and I woke up about five minutes later in the ground. My step dad had told me that some dude in a flames jersey came up behind me and slugged me right in the chin, knocking me out cold and as I was in the ground he started going into my pocket. My step dad, short and stocky and one of the toughest mofos I know ran to the guy and clotheslined him. The dude got up and ran out the door to a car waiting there for him. They didn’t get my money but that was one of the most cowardly acts I’ve ever seen in my life. But don’t worry flames fans, I don’t paint you all in the same light. There’s always ###### fans in every fan base. I’m an oilers fan and I sometimes cringe at some of the things I read or hear from other oilers fans. Honestly tho, leaf’s fans are the worst…..

Flames fans are the worst... They complain about how expensive hockey games are. Calgary has the cheapest tickets available in the NHL. Bleeds cost almost nothing, and even cheaper or free if you look on CP. Flames fans also complain about how expensive concessions are... Again, Calgary has some of the cheapest stadium beer in the NHL. For food, again, discount vouchers are available on CP. Calgary also has a higher median income than a lot of other NHL cities.

Flames fans are the worst... They complain about how there are way too gambling ads on TV. Calgary (and generally Alberta) loves loves loves pouring their money into 50/50s. A Seattle 50/50 might get $20,000 -- Calgary consistently gets to $100,000. Alberta has more casino density than anywhere that isn't Nevada. Calgarians absolutely love gambling.

Flames fans are the worst... They spend 9 years exulting Brad Treliving as a Wizard and the greatest GMs of all time. The wizard does it again! How did he manage to get player X to sign for that cap hit! What a steal of a trade! But, after two (in hindsight) bad deals/signings, he is written off as the worst GM of all time. Completely normal behaviour.
Yeah, I'm definitely none of these things. I don't complain about the price of tickets, I don't like gambling and I was always skeptical of Brad Treliving's work. Honestly, if the organization gave the GM keys to Tod Button, I think the Flames are perennial contenders as of today.

His amateur scouting team despite the lack of draft capital have done exceptional work given the circumstances. Wolf at 214, Mangiapane at 166, Ferland at 133, Pospisil at 105, Gaudreau at 104, Adam Fox at 66. These picks are absolute gems. Heck, if it were up to him, he would've drafted both Gaudreau and Kucherov back in 2011 and the Flames would have the greatest LW-RW duo over the past decade.

I try to not harsh on fans of other teams who come to CP.

But no fan of any Philly sports team past or present has anything to say regarding another fanbase.
Even in jest... which this doesn't feel like.

No Calgary Flames fan has ever intentionally barfed on a child.

This is supported by psychology.

A lot of patterns around sports and fan behaviour.

The exception is around Edmonton and Edmonton sports. It perplexes experts, but fans there are more belligerent and maladaptive on average. Something in the water, they reckon.

Clearly OP has never read an ATL report to see other fanbases lose their #### when their team loses.

Philly fans are well known for gentility, patience, and never turning on their team…ask this year’s version of the Eagles…Philly fans booed them before the end of the first quarter in game one of the season.

Living in a place like Philly?

Makes sense that you'd have more to be angry about.
