I bumped this thread at the beginning of July when they hit 12 million in funding. Now 2 1/2 months later they've raised 7 million more, pretty mind boggling

On the RSI Forums, user Anticitizen has created a survey to gauge the community's feelings on various subjects as well as to gather some demographic data. He will be publishing the findings of the survey and sending the results to CIG.
We are also excited to reveal the $21 million stretch goal, a major gameplay feature we have been hoping to include with Star Citizen and the culmination of several recent stretch goal unlocks!

In one of the game canon stories that they've written, a chunk of the first human colonization ship is discovered, The Artemis. It was launched shortly after humans had figured out near-light speed travel (centuries before the game takes place) with a few thousand colonists in cryogenic suspension. Of course all contact was lost and no trace of the ship or the crew were ever discovered until a chunk of the hull was found embedded in a planet. I'm guessing that this will tie in heavily with the salvage career option if it isn't part of the main campaign

The final Frontier
These are the voyages of the starship Star Citizen
Its ongoing mission, to exploit strange new worlds
To seek out and exterminate new civilizations
To boldly rape, plunder and pillage what no man has done before.

In the period between the Citizen Card bump and the Aurora sale, the daily average was about $6k.
Between the Aurora Sale and the 300i sale, it was about $18k.
Between the 300i sale and the Hangar module, it was about $40k.
It has been 8 days since things calmed down from the Hangar module spike, the average is roughly $80k.
Each time there is a big event, it adds more people to the community who in turn tell their friends (my nephew, brother, and two of my friends are on board).
The campaign seems to be building a pretty impressive momentum.
It makes me really wonder... the dogfighting module could really make the funding explode. Should be fun to watch.
Also, I'm not sure if everyone read the letter from yesterday about the $19 million threshold, but there will be some sort of event on October 10th for the 1st anniversary of Star Citizen.
EDIT: Apparently because I am obsessive... here is a chart I made illustrating the above.
When the Nov. deadline for LTI ships hits we are going have a huge spike in purchasing.
If they release new ship variants, sure (rumors of Freelancer and/or Hornet variants coming down the pipe). But if not then I don't think there'll be that big of a spike, most veteran/original backers have all the ships they want at the moment

The thing is that all backers can still melt down their ships. I know many are holding on to ships like Hornets and Auroras as placeholders to get their backer status and thinking of maybe upgrading to something bigger when November comes around.
