They are still playing? The Aussie schedule is crazy.

Genie's instagram account is must see! Genie's tennis not so much.
Her play in 2014 has to be tennis's biggest Bermuda Triangle. Reaching #5 in the world....
No serve, average forehand, below average backhand and bad attitude. I can't see how she can ever get back into the top 50.

Weird timing on that post. She may have lost a bit of focus over a few years, and is playing some of her best tennis in a while right now.
You know that Serena Williams is more than just pretty good at tennis, right?

I really don't understand this take. It was the same with Anna Kournikova back in the day, who at one point was a top 20. Everyone saying she's terrible at tennis, and now similar things being said about Genie.
Not talking about her getting back into the top 50 like it's unacceptable. Top 50. In the entire WORLD. There are a lot of girls that play tennis in the world. Perhaps her getting to #5 in the world is not going to happen again, but let's put things in perspective here. She's in the 0.00001%.

We'll see how Genie's season goes on from here. With her play the past few years, this could just be a hot streak for her. But I'm hoping that she can sustain it, and return to some resemblance of her peak form.

Even if she was ranked 250th in the world she would be .0001%.
She had everything going for her and then she gets into this weird feud with her 1st coach and has never been the same. Then starts acting like a total spoiled brat with her sportsmanship on and off the court.
and that Genie's army crap is just R.Kelly creepy.

Shapo vs. Joker on Friday night (Saturday afternoon down under) - It's a shame this is not happening in the 2nd week of the tourney, but it should be fun to watch.

Whining about Bouchard and Raonic is almost literally the only reason Johnny Makarov participates in the tennis threads. Rarely he will branch out and whine about someone else.
He'd probably die if he couldn't make a bitchy post any time Bouchard's name is mentioned.

Shows how much you are in here. Did you miss my 30 straight bitchy posts about Kyprios and Tank engine?LOL
Sure i get it. They are Canadian so you have to cheer for them. I just watch tennis because of the greatest players in history currently still on tour. Federer, Nadal, Joker, Serena,Sharapova. We will never see this again.
I probably watch 5 times more tennis than hockey the past 10 years. Federer is my all time favorite athlete. So much skill and class. He is the man!

There are some tantalizing matches on the men's side today:
Tsitsipas vs. Basilashvili
Fritz vs. Federer
De Minaur vs Nadal
as far as the women are concerned:
Barty vs Sakkari (Aussie vs. Greek fans should make for a fun atmosphere)
Sharapova vs. Wozniacki

I think Shapo has a chance in this. Not a big chance but I think if he wins the first set he wins the match, at least I hope.

Lots of early a.m. posts from people that must have been up all night watching matches. That's the bummer about this tournament. I was so glad Milos wrapped up his match in the 4th set because I know I would have stayed up for the 5th set and been pretty tired at 5:00 a.m. this morning.

Like I said, rarely, you will branch out. But nearly your only purpose here is to whine about two people. And, based on the rest of your comment, I suspect it is because they are Canadian.

One interesting stat from the Milos - Stan match I read today - Milos won 10 of the 17 rallies that featured 9 or more shots.
