I get why he put it into the ground (to maintain a view), but I think it makes this workshop much less practical. Otherwise I really like it.

Besides his woodworking videos, he makes videos on different things he has built for the shop including a gantry that helps him move really heavy items into/out of the shop, so that's how he dealt with that issue.

I got an email from Keepa that this set is going on lighting deal tomorrow at 12:25 Calgary time:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01ENWKO92?psc=1
I was hoping for the 70w, but if this deal is good enough I may go with them and see if they have enough light.

Looks equivalent to mine from Costco (40w 4100 lumens) and mine are very bright

Deal is on, $161 for 4 lights, pretty good deal. I've ordered them.

^ i agree totally with this. it does seem to make the shop less useful and harder to repurpose.
otherwise, he clearly thought of/thru everything

Jeez, you are keeping the pressure on me! i too have started drywalling.
The cottage roof with scissor trusses added a lot more challenge to this than a flat roof, but it is coming together!

Stang - you are making me feel guilty. I haven't started insulation, vapour barrier and drywall yet. I think I'll leave it until the spring. I'm not using the garage right now anyway. Also, it's in the middle of nowhere, and I don't want to keep anything in it until I move out there.
Anyway, it looks like you have the hardest part done (the ceiling). The walls will be easy by comparison.

Wow - lots of plugs on the wall. Looks like you won't need an extension cord for anything

Ha, that's the wall with an average amount of plugs. The big one in the middle is a 240v in case Big Oil ever collapses, and I'm stuck using a golf cart.
"Big Plug Wall" where the work bench goes has a few more...
Sorry, this appears to be the best image I have of it...I hate extension cords.

If I ever win the lottery I'm buying an acreage and I'm putting up a 10-bay garage purely for the enjoyment of building it. Then when it's all done, I'll just spend my days admiring it and imagining all the cool stuff I could use it for.

Turns out you can.

I recall being in a site office for a project and they were testing their overhead lighting in it. This was lighting designed to be 30' in the air lighting a data centre. They had 4 of them in the small site office and it was way too bright. Even turning 2 of them off it was still kinda too bright.

I think for the walls I’m going to be going with a Vic west product called ag-tuff. Its like tin but a plastic. No painting and easy clean off

Good idea - how much more expensive is it than drywall?

I haven’t done a side by side comparison but I think it’s got to be close. Considering I won’t have to pay for tape and mud

I'm not familiar with that product or the building code in your area, but in CoC, an attached garage has to be completely sealed from the house, which means that the adjoining wall needs to be fire taped. Since that was formerly an exterior wall, it might not be an issue for you, but you might want to check with your inspector or building code manager in your county.
I guess when I think about it, it's called Alberta Building code, so the rules are probably the same, but I'm talking about a new build house with attached garage.
