Crysis 1 was more open than Far Cry 1 was. The problem with Crysis is that their best map ever was the opening map to the first game. That map gave you free reign of a huge island and you could go many different ways including swimming around the whole thing to the back side.
After that, the game provided glimpses of that but bottlenecked itself by deciding to go the urban New York setting which meant tons of artificial walls and barriers and crate and rubble syndrome that felt like you were getting cheated.

I just like how in Crysis 3 you can carry hundreds of rounds of ammo but only 9 regular arrows.

haha yea it is quite funny, but i see the reasons behind it. I don't think they wanted to make the game where you can just cloak all the time and shoot bows to win.

Honestly, the story is a mess. I would catch up on the IGN video for Crysis in 5 minutes and you should be fine.
They take it in a very different direction then I expected after finishing 1.

For a few years I have a group of few friends who get together once a week and play a game and chat. For most of that time it has been WoW. We're getting pretty tired of it; anyone have any good ideas for a casual co-op game?
TIA

Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Killing Floor
Magicka
Civ 5 (with round limits)
Mechwarrior: Online is super fun in a 4-man lance

League of legends is great fun to play with friends, we do something similar and many of them are old wow castoffs friends.

League of Legends? Although that could also destroy your friendships depending on how serious you take it. A lot of the people that I use to play WoW with have now migrated over to LoL.
If you're talking 4 people you could always try:
Left 4 Dead 2 (I am going to just say 2 because they've released all of the original levels with the second game now)
Killing Floor
Sanctum (fun fps tower defence game)
Borderlands 1/2
I am a big fan of Sins of Solar Empire. It's a space RTS and you can fit a fairly large number of players in a game. It's closer to a 4X RTS so you have a lot more time to just sit back and shoot the #### with your friends.

- Borderlands 1 and 2 are excellent picks. Nothing screams fun like a team FPS/RPG against enemies that don't whine or ragequit on you.
- If you don't mind a quasi strategy game, Dungeon Defenders is a heck of a lot of fun.
- Terraria is pretty amusing.
- Play Magicka, troll friends.

I really like Borderlands 2 but it's limited to 4 player co-op.

For the Skyrim folks out there are there any mods that aren't popular that are a must have in your opinion? Im certainly late to the party lol.

The only "must-have" mods are SkyUI, and Project P.E.W. IMO, but your YMMV.

Any fans of Garriot's Ultima series? Got a new solo/multiplayer online game up on kickstarter: Shourd of the Avatar.
This sold me:
Quote:
Classless character system:
Unlike most RPGs, players will not be limited to the class they select at the beginning of the game. We will be discussing this feature in more detail during an upcoming Developer Blog.

EDIT: Aw it's not an MMO. I was hoping he was trying to revive the cut throat kill your neighbour salad days. Too few games to be an utter ####### in nowadays.

Not yet a MMO.. but it will have some form of PvP and online play, so I will wait to see how he ties the two together. I have a feeling he is testing something with this game, depending on its success we might see what he is really planning with a new MMO.
From the guy who made UO's PvP, the best I have ever played in any game hands down period end of story, I will at least give this PvP a shot.
