As we didn't have the extra crispy snakes until last year, here are some Tuesday snakes from the initial year. After game #52, the orange snake was mathematically eliminated from achieving 96 points. The regular snake did show the oilers were well below the Flames, but this is hilariously terrible.

Not stolen. I was happy you wanted to steward it!

*EDIT* Hahaha! I am just now reviewing that thread and see that you started the snake in 2014 right at the time the Flames went on their eight-game losing streak.
Ha, yes, the snake cursed the Flames for a few weeks, but ultimately the first snake came through with shining colours that year.

And now Bunk doesn't run the city or the snek. All he has is some 'podcast' whatever that is, what a loser!

A .500 points percentage over the remainder of the season gets the Flames to 96 points.

Not to take anything away from you guys, but I actually pioneered the extra crispy snake. Squiggs came up with the beautiful name and obviously kept it running (all hail snake master squiggs!).

Best thread on CP, keep it up!

I might go for Jay Freakily Coincidental.

If they end up playing Montreal for the Cup again, then I'll be Jay Deterministic.

This is a special day in the terrarium. The red snake can finish the season with a .500 record over the remaining games and still finish with 96 points. For the number of years I've been a part of the snake, it's normally been a chase up to the black line. It's spent much more time south of the border, rather than on the promised land. This is very pleasing to see. A record of 19-19-0 (0.500 point percentage) in the remaining 38 games would give the red snake 96 points. It is currently on pace for 108 points.

Squiggs, I think you once posted a chart showing the cup winning squad and 04 squad seasons.. any chance we could see how we're pacing this season?

Favourite thread.

Another win tonight moves the red snake to 7.317 points above the black line, 6 points above the purple snake, and 9 points above the orange snake. This marks the 25th consecutive game above the black line, with a minimum of 6 more games guaranteed. A record of 18-19-0 (0.486 point percentage) in the remaining 37 games would give the red snake 96 points. It is currently on pace for 109 points.

The guaranteed games above the black line after tonight's game reached 6 for the first time all season. 7.317 points above the black line extends the season high from the previous game. My research is fairly shoddy tonight, but I believe the 7.317 positive gap above the black line is the largest the Flames have ever had in the 82 game season era. I think the last time a Calgary snake was at least 7.317 points above the black line was April 2, 1989.

Game #45 marks the high point of the purple snake, also equaled after game #4. Game #45 was the 7th win in a row for the purple snake, in a streak of games where it acquired points in 11 straight games. However, the next four games are all SO or OT losses. After that things go downhill quickly. Literally. Goodbye purple snake. We hardly knew ye.

I feel like we should be higher above the line than we are, for being second in the league.

Calgary is on pace for 109 points. That’s only 13 points above the black line. 7.317 points above the black line seems pretty good after 45 games. If they finished 7 points above the black line they’d have 103 points. They’ve had three seasons that good (2005-06 - 103, 1987-88 - 105, 1988-89 - 117).

I am in awe of this snake.
A red snake has not climbed so high in 3 decades.

I am a little concerned with the rare air way up there. Take care Snakey! (I know I am being over protective. I can't help it.)

Tonight's win moves the red snake to a new season high of 8.146 points above the black line, 7 points above the purple snake, and 9 points above the orange snake. This marks the 26th consecutive game above the black line, with a minimum of 6 more games guaranteed. A record of 17-19-0 (0.459 point percentage) in the remaining 36 games would give the red snake 96 points. It is currently on pace for 111 points.

Fun fact: If the 2018-19 Flames went 0-36-0 in the final 36 regular season games, they would have the same number of points (62) as the 2014-15, 2010-11, and 2009-10 Oilers teams.
