Nishikori takes care of Kyrgios in straight sets. Pretty sublime tennis from Kei today.

Former Grand Slam winner Marion Bartoli calls Kyrgahole "pathetic" and then he goes out and proves her right! Accused of tanking the first set. Hardly a surprise. The ATP should suspend him for a year, hopefully making him retire and live out his dream of playing basketball as a backup pointguard in the Philippines.
Quote:
The 23-year-old showed little effort to return any of Nishikori’s shots and it drew strong criticism from BBC commentator Castle.“He has decided that’s enough,” Castle said.
“The crowd can’t believe what they’re seeing at this moment
“He likes being in the spotlight but he can turn this around in a second.
“You cannot win a Grand Slam over a two week period against the best players in the world with this sort of attitude.

Kyrgios did definitely tank that first set and don't misconstrue this as me defending Nick, but I've seen other players do similar things when they are down and out in a set. That said, Kyrgios is never going to get the benefit of the doubt based on his history. You wonder if he is ever going to develop the right mental attitude needed to win a major.

So alleged star Alexander Zverev has been bageled twice this year in the fifth set. Still only twice past the third round in 13 major attempts. Sure doesn't sound like a star to me. Basically right now he's the Raptors of tennis, a good-to-possibly great regular season player, and a playoff choker.

Ya there's no defending a loss to Gulbis. Still think he eventually figures it out. If I were him I would hire Becker as my coach , worked for Novak.

It didn't look like Federer was going anywhere!

Of course Federer would not lose at Wimbledon again until the 2008 classic against Nadal.

With Pliskova now out, the women's draw has no top ten players left in the QFs, the first time ever in the Open Era, men's or women's. Obviously anyone's tournament on that side.
Definitely not Mannarino's tournament on the men's side. Just got bageled in the first set to Fed in 16 minutes and won only five points.

I'm really hoping we see Monfils roll Anderson and he's focused and ready for a Federer showdown. If he plays up to his potential would be the match of the tournament.

Milos looked tremendously comfortable today. White sure does agree with him.

Why the need for the haha? I think we all know we're in for at least three tiebreakers. It's gonna be boring, we all know this.

I'd much rather see Tsitsipas, I like the cut of his jib. Also, if the Isner serve-bot is working well, Milos will be in tough.

Gaby Dabrowski and Xu Yifan are into the quarter-finals in ladies doubles following a straight sets win earlier today.

It is good to see Raonic finally healthy and playing well. How has Isner been lately?
