Ok what was that? They can stop a play to review a penalty.

This is why I hate football. Pretending to be hurt to kill the clock. So cheap. Sweden seems tondive to the extreme all game.

I agree, but then again what if Korea scored there? That would be a complete mess, so you basically have to stop the play. They should have stopped it sooner though. Still some VAR kinks to iron out...

These animated sideline ads need to GTFO, they're so distracting.

I thought Korea played a good game overall. Im a casual football fan though but I really dislike the Swedish team.

Anyone else sick of VAR awarded penalty kicks already?

How many games have been won by VAR awarded kicks?

?? I thought Korea was pretty invisible all game. Sweden should have scored 2-3.

At the beginning of the match it was all Sweden for sure but then after I thought it was pretty even. Korea had a few chances that just missed.

I think refs are hesitant to call penalties, just let VAR pick it up.

And Korea were pretty bad all game, could not put 2 passes together.

Why would they not review that? It seems a very arbitrary decision as to wether they go to the VAR booth.
TSN interviewed Howard Webb afterwards and he basically just said that that kind of contact happens all the time, it wasnt enough to warrant calling for a foul.

Now thats more or less just refs sticking together I think and I'm partly bitter this season because I've seen plays where people have been called for less, but it was a pretty minor shove.

That being said though it was a good goal, forget the tiny shove and just actually look at the Brazilian positioning on that corner. It was atrocious. They had 10 guys defending 5 attackers and he got a free header at point blank range and the keeper didnt move at all.

Why couldnt Alisson have taken care of that? It was like 3 yards from the goal and directly in front of him, if he was strong and took control of his box he could easily have come out and dealt with it, get a hand on it, get a punch in, put the player off, something.

What is really telling is that after that goal Brazil jut really couldnt regain their rhythm. They looked like a totally different team and whats most concerning was that they ran out of ideas other than 'give it Neymar.'

I like the Howard Webb segment TSN is doing.

One thing that annoys me is how they immediately cut to the panel once the final whistle blows, then they don't go back to the stadium for pitch side analysis and they don't air the pressers.

The TSN panel isn't horrible, but I'd like to see some reaction from the stadiums as well.

What memo did I miss that all teams have to have these mid-90s pixelated kits that look terrible?

We should start a betting pool:

"Who does Fellaini elbow in the head when hes inevitably subbed on in the second half?"

I'm going to cheat and say the Costa Rican goalkeeper.

Get those elbows up Marouane!

Wait...he's going to drive to the Costa Rican hotel mid-game to elbow their goal keeper.

Panama, Costa Rica, I'm at work and not watching. They're all the same to me.

Although that would be hilarious.

"Why? We're not even in the same group!"

Belgium just not really playing with any urgency. Which makes no sense seeing as if Panama somehow score it'll be 10 in the box defending, and while Fellaini can no doubt elbow every one of them, that still might not be enough. Should be pressing more for a goal.

I'm following via boxscore, but you're right, if Panama snatch one its going to be all hands on deck in the box and that is really tough to break down.

Granted, if anyone could thread a pass through 10 Panamanians and the eye of a needle its KDB.
