Surviving the Game kind of fits more into that Most Dangerous Game mold, whereas Gamer is more on the Running Man platform.

Always thought of him as a Jugger in Blood of Heroes, first.

+1. Gamer was actually alright. IMO much better than Condemned.

Not sure if I've ever posted in this thread, but I read it from time to time and have gotten some great suggestions here that I probably would have missed otherwise - so thanks for that!

I realize a lot of you are movie buffs and really appreciate well made movies - so maybe this is out of place here - but I really enjoy comedies and could use a few new ones to watch. Here's a list of some of my favorites:

Hot Rod
Walk Hard
Happy Gilmore
Step Brothers
Grandma's Boy
Tropic Thunder
Super Troopers
Hot Fuzz
Pineapple Express
Strange Wilderness
Zombieland
Talladega Nights
Bridesmaids

And a few more that I like a lot, but maybe not favorite material:

The Big Lebowski
Kingpin
Deadpool
Zoolander
Groundhog Day
The Waterboy
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Spy
South Park Bigger, Longer, & Uncut
Billy Madison
Anchorman
Tommy Boy
This is The End
Beerfest
You Don't Mess With the Zohan
Planes, Trains & Automobiles

You get the idea - mostly dumb comedies without much critical acclaim. That said - I'm open to anything. Can I get some recommendations for comedies I may have missed over the years?

^ The Jerk with Steve Martin - i feel it stills holds up after all these years. I will admit i am usually in an altered state while watching.

Over the weekend they had Slap Shot & The Jerk on the Hollywood Suite channels. Just puts you in the right mood watching both of those movies.

The exclusion of What We Do In The Shadows from your list is a glaring oversight but I’m sure you’ll resolve that.

You’d probably like Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping as well.

^Both excellent suggestions. Popstar in particular was very overlooked.

I LOVEd Popstar! Definitely forgot to add...

As for What We Do In The Shadows - I started it very late one night and never got very far into it. Will definitely give it a try again!

Hot Rod's "dance/85 minute tumble through the forest" scene never doesn't make me laugh like a 12 year old hysterical child.

@ Bs. Good list.

Here are some from my highest rated Letterboxd comedies.

- Private Parts. Autobiographical movie starring and about the life of Howard Stern. He’s hilarious in in but Paul Giamatti steals the show as his surly producer. Imo this is one of the most underrated comedies of the last 25 years. No one has seen it or heard of it and it makes my sides hurt ever time I watch it.

- Clerks/Clerks II/Dogma/Mallrats

- Trading Places.

- Half Baked

- Bad Santa

- This is Spinal Tap

- Road Trip. 90s comedy with Tom green.

- baseketball and Team America if you like South Park.

- Bullworth - black comedy with Warren Beatty

- Van Wilder. Waiting..., Just Friends. If you like Ryan Reynolds

- Major Payne. Marlon Damon Wayans 90s comedy. Mostly children safe. And if you like the Wayans, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. That one is not kid safe.

- Mouse Hunt. Nathan Lane. Another kid safe comedy.

- Arthur (original not that Russell brand crap)

- Young People ####ing. Canadian comedy about relationships. Raunchy and hilarious.

- the Party. A Peter Sellers classic.

- Hunt for the Wilderpeople and In Bruges if you want more of the dramedy/black comedy angle.

I'll add :

Saving Silverman (unrated, the rated one is butchered)
Stripes
Uncle Buck
Little Miss Sunshine
Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle
Bowfinger (this one is incredible)
Three Amigos (personal favorite)

and in the underrated category I'll put Get Him to the Greek.

Ha! I own Private Parts on DVD - completely forgot about it. Teenager me loved the speaker scene lol

I've seen a lot of your list, but forgot about some of them - time for a re-visit me thinks! Thanks!

A few others to check out:

Out Cold
Euro Trip
My Best Friend's Girl
Orgazmo (south park creators)
Multiplicity (I haven't watched it in ages though, might not hold up)

This is the end might be the most divisive film to be discussed in this thread. Personally, I liked it, but I can understand how the non stop meta could be aggravating.

Never even heard of 7 Days in Hell - and I guess most people haven’t either as the trailer has like 14k views lol. Looks good tho - I’ll give it a try!

No I've talked to a lot of Samburg fans who have never heard of it. I liked it better than Popstar, and I quite enjoyed Popstar. 7 Days in Hell is freaking hilarious.

Screw it I'm going to watch it again.

It was on Crave if you have that.

Fairly comprehensive list of absolute gold comedies, though you lost me at "You Don't Mess With The Zohan".

Just thinking off the top of my head (Edit: I am sure you have seen a bunch of these but they weren't listed so I figured what the heck):

Macgruber
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Role Models
I Love You Man
Knocked Up
This is 40
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
The Other Guys
Uncle Buck (John Candy = Legend)
Waynes World
Ace Ventura
Dumb and Dumber
The Wedding Singer
Sean Of The Dead
Superbad
Old School
Booksmart
Good Boys
Wedding Crashers
Napoleon Dynamite
The Disaster Artist
