I'm not familiar enough with him, to have an opinion whether he'd be someone to acquire, but if 7 yrs is the term he's looking for my initial gut-feeling is 'no thanks'.

I believe the Flames were originally interested in acquiring Turris years ago from Phoenix, before he was shipped out to Ottawa. Probably no room for him here unless either he or Backlund want to play 4th line centre, or move to the Wing, or if we moved out Backlund. I think I would rather keep Backlund. Perhaps he gets put in a package to Colorado for Duchene?

I'd imagine the Flames aren't interested. They have their own similar situation with Backlund and I'm thinking current Flames management (Treliving/Maloney) probably soured a bit on Turris and his agent during that whole contract situation.

Mark Streit’s second stint with the Montreal Canadiens could wind up being shorter than anyone might have anticipated.
Sportsnet has learned that the Canadiens are actively shopping the 39-year-old defenceman, whom they signed to a one-year, $1 million contract in July.
Streit scored six goals and added 16 assists in 68 games split between the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins last season. But he’s only appeared in two of Montreal’s four games this year while averaging 14:33 per game.
Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said at the team’s annual golf tournament in September that the left-handed defender was brought to Montreal to potentially supplant what the team lost on the power play when Andrei Markov signed with the KHL’s Ak-Bars Kazan in July.
The Swiss native has already been relegated to the outside of a crowded blue line, and the imminent return of David Schlemko, who’s been nursing a hand injury since the first week of training camp and is on the cusp of being cleared for action, will push him further to the periphery.
In order to activate Schlemko, the Canadiens will be forced to send 19-year-old Victor Mete back to the OHL’s London Knights or to waive or trade one of Streit, Brandon Davidson or Joe Morrow, who are all on one-way contracts.
The former scenario is most unlikely, considering Mete is logging just over 18 minutes per game and playing on the team’s top defensive pairing with Shea Weber. Also, if Mete is returned to the Knights, he cannot be recalled to the NHL unless there’s an emergency.
Since Davidson has drawn in for Streit and played well, and with Morrow signed over the summer for depth purposes, Streit appears to be the odd-man out.
Right. Because Mark Streit is the problem. It has nothing to do with playing Jonathan Drouin, who's not a centre, as the #1C. Or that for at least three years, the best natural centre on the team has been Tomas Plekanec. Or that they traded PK frickin Subban for Shea goddamn Weber. Or that Marc ####ing Bergevin is the GM.

Hmm sounds like Montreal could use some experience up front.
Brouwer for Streit? Or Morrow?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I love watching le Bleu Blanc et Rouge implode! Their team is horrible, how anyone thought they might be Stanley Cup contenders beyond Price is hilarious.

I don't think they're that far off...if Galchenyuk wasn't so darn useless and they could bury their chances they'd be fine. What they need is a James Neal type player tho.
