I've always been kind of a fan of Eliza, her work on Buffy and Angel was really good. I was wondering what happened to her. Looking at IMDB her work on Bull was her last acting role. And her last producer role was 2018. Before that she was really busy.

It does feel like she's a bit black balled.

Like the Captain, I have seen her in a few shows and could barely recognize the woman on the video. Just an observation as this isn't exactly news as she discussed this on a Howard Stern interview I heard a few years back.

Erick Estrada learning how make-up works was not what I expected to see in this thread.

big deal in China right now if anyone has heard about the bravery of Peng Shuai and her disappearance.

The WTA has shown the most ethics out of any professional Sports organization when dealing with China.

"We've had a lot of success [in China]," Simon said in an interview with CNN on Thursday night. "I think that when you look at this, though, there are too many times in our world today when we get into issues like this and we let business, politics, money dictate what's right and what's wrong. ... We have to start as a world making decisions that are based on right and wrong, period."

I saw that last night on the news.

Does anyone really believe the Chinese Govn't isn't behind her disappearance?

####ing Chinese Government is appalling.

**As always this is an indictment of the Chinese Government and Chinese Communist Party, not a comment on the Chinese populace or those of Chinese decent**

I have to wonder why bother to protect this ex-official? It wouldn’t be unprecedented for the government to make the accused disappear.

Or is it just China saying “we can get rid of the likes of high profile people such as Jack Ma and Peng Shuai and nobody can do anything about it“.

Possibly because this isn't an isolated case.

I think in China's case it's a more basic 'dont cause us to lose face' and a message to anyone else with any issue they might think about airing in public

I genuinely cannot wait until I never have to hear about this ######bag or his creepy brother again:

CNN Suspends Chris Cuomo After New Details on Help He Gave His Brother

Quote:
In scores of emails and text messages between Mr. Cuomo his brother’s inner circle, he repeatedly offered advice — “Please let me help with the prep,” he texted a senior aide in March — and made efforts to track down the status of pending articles at other news outlets, including Politico and The New Yorker, that concerned allegations of sexual harassment by Andrew Cuomo.

At one point, the governor’s former top aide, Melissa DeRosa, asked the anchor if he could check his “sources” about a rumor that Politico was working on an article that included additional accusations. “On it,” Chris Cuomo responded.
Quote:
Ms. James’s report also included a text from Mr. Cuomo to Ms. DeRosa sent a few days after a woman, Anna Ruch, told The New York Times that Andrew Cuomo had made an unwanted advance toward her at a wedding in New York City. “I have a lead on the wedding girl,” the anchor wrote in the text.

I enjoy the on-air Chris Cuomo but part of me wants him fired for this.

He absolutely needs to be fired, major lapse of judgment for a journalist to have.

He needs to be fired for being a sanctimonious mouthpiece, and subsequently a lousy journalist. This is just the cherry on the top. His monologues and interviews with his brother were cringe worthy. Seemed like every soccer mom loved them but I wasn’t buying it.

I always thought it was strange that he would interview or discuss his brother's news. I get it, he is a journalist, but they should've kept that whole relationship arms' length.

It just goes to show that US journalism and media is entirely a for-profit enterprise and despite the issues with CBC or BBC, a government broadcaster (operating independently) is desirable.

Not sure how "high-profile" a swimmer is, but Olympian Yannick Agnel is in custody in Paris on charges of rape of a 15 year old
