I’m someone who likes to play with emotion. I think the last five years I proved that. In Pittsburgh, I had a hard time getting involved in games and being myself.

“Their expectation was for me to be a 50- or 60-point guy. What third-line centre has 50-60 points? You’re limited somewhere — ice time or whatever.

Well that talent will be wasted in Edmonton

This reminds me of when they brought in Boyd Gordon for some reason.

Brassard will definitely get the opportunity to play a major part on the Oilers. Would be interesting to see what the contract is signed for.

I always thought he was a good player but never paid any attention to him, what I saw in the Avs series was a lazy, undisciplined player

What are they up to now, about 13 NHLers?

I can't believe Holland hasn't traded JP yet for an NHL body. Literally half his team is minor leaguers.

Knowing Gregor's recent history with news breaking, I'd consider the deal officially done and Brassard already moved into a new home in Edmonton.

I have built a reputation as being good in the playoffs - I should sign with a team that has no chance of getting there!

Yeah, science!

Sounds like Brassard is trying to use the Oilers to generate a bidding war. If he signs anywhere north of 1M then they will be so close to the cap that overage from bonuses will come into play.

Wasn't he a healthy scratch against the Flames in the playoffs?

It's the middle of August, he should take anything he can get now. Hence why he is now considering the grease.

You typically dont even listen to the Oilers' offer if other teams are 'in the mix.'

Edmonton media and fans - If signing goes through, he is our savior. He will get back to 50/60 points. If he signs for someone else, thank god we didn't sign him. He is washed up and useless.

Gasp! Gregor was right?!?

For the mobile impaired: Brassard not an Oiler. Seems unlikely.

I guess he came to his senses?

Given the way this off-season has gone this feels like the exact moment where we learning he's signing in Calgary.

Because all the Oilers writers just wrote glowing articles telling me he's amazing!
