I like the "Respect the Red" sign above him.

As long as he stays healthy, Mike Smith is going to start and win more games for the Oilers than Koskinen.

If Mike Smith suffers through an injury plagued shortened season there is still a very good chance that he will win more games than Koskinen.

But he'll win fewer games than either Rittich or Talbot win for the Flames.

Mike Smith should just retire, he's terrible. Maybe he is better than Koskinen but that's not exactly a high bar. Both will flirt with sub .900 sv% or worse. They are the kind of goalies a team employs if they are aiming for Byfield or Lafreniere.

Smith might just eclipse .900 with the oil since he loves heavy work loads.
With how lessaiz faire things are around that club he might have free reigns to 3rd d-man it as much as his heart desires.

The Oilers d-men won't know how to react to Smith's handling of the puck and there will be nightly gaffes that lead to goals.
And that's why I advocate for getting rid of the trapezoid. Let dumb-dumb goalies go play the puck and generate goals.

Well at least they have someone that can make the occasional pass out of the defensive zone.
The forwards will cheat....and the Dmen will cheat. He'll just be back there.....all by himself...so lonely...

Of course, it wouldn’t happen that way. In the old days goalies used to intercept pucks on the side boards and well away from their nets. It was always much easier to play the puck there than it is in a small space behind the goal line usually within much closer proximity of players who have more time to catch up to the puck now than they did under the old rules. If anything, the limitations on goalie movement now actually increase the number of puck-play guffaws.

Just saw him interview with the Oiler media and dropped the comment "I think he will fit in real well here in Calgary, oops Edmonton . . . sorry " Haha amazing, he was referring to Tippett

I suspect I myself may let out a guffaw when Smith makes a gaffe versus the Flames.

Especially since they don't have a defenseman who can take a pass or carry the puck with any level of competence.
