New Lacuna Coil album (Delirium) is fantastic IMHO. Much more Andrea's (male) vocals are much more aggressive...take the guttural vocals that are often in the background and move them front and center for a good chunk of the album. Cristina's vocals are great as always but a lot more operatic/symphonic in places.
I've enjoyed the first few spins through Gojira's Magma. Some characteristic Gojira on the album but also some significant departures. It definitely has a different feel than L'enfant Sauvage of 4 years ago.

Katatonia are streaming their new album here - they've evolved over the years from doom metal to more of an melancholy, atmospheric band but still with a heavy edge.
Devo, we are absolutely spoiled this year with the efforts from Chevelle and Thrice. I cannot get over either album right now. My ears are in a frenzy for both.... like all the time.
I also did not know that they're working with the producer from Tool and Queens of the Stone Age for the last three albums. He's really got them hitting their stride right now.

absolutely. I never really followed Thrice before, but their new album really blew me away. Will have to listen to some of their previous records for sure. Chevelle has been on a roll for a while IMO, the heavier direction of the latest records really suits them.
also a new Alter Bridge album coming in October. This year really keeps on giving. Now if somehow Tool could finally release a new one too ...
and apparently they'll tour in Europe this fall together with Gojira
