Yea, even in Smith's "bounce back" game he still only puts up an .889sv%.

By steal do you mean stop more than 85% of the shots we face?
Edit my bad: he was .889 tonight

The difference of course being the fact that one was successful and the other was not.

Good for them for coming back. Disappointed that once again, the polite Flames give another first (for the goalie today). But glad the effort was there at least.

And another goalie gets his first win in the NHL over the Flames. They should have been throwing everything they could on him in the third but tried to be too pretty.

Czarnik was one of our best forwards imo. Constantly creating turnovers.

For everyone defending Smith and Neal, we've rode them to a sub 500 record. Even if you think they play well, if they don't make saves or score any points, then are they ACTUALLY playing well? Think about it a bit.

He was better but our “starter” shouldn’t be in a situation where a game with sub .900 Sv% is an improvement on his stats.

Never once throughout the game did I think the Flames would come out on top. Still the same old Flames imo but they did better than I thought today.

Baby steps. Any time they can pull even for a point is positive.
Neal and Smith are weak links lately. Just not helping. Why do all of James movements look like they're in slow motion? And yes Smith was decent in the third to not allow more. But that third and OT is how he should be playing every game. The rest of the team was decent.
We need the Monahan we know and love back moving forward.

For all the ####ting on Smith, he stopped a 2 on 1 onetimer from Ovechkin and a slapper point blank (Oshie?) to allow us to stay within 1 and tie it.

Neal looking for his first ever shootout goal, so it's right to question his maneuvers.
Had nothing to do with "effort" or "knowing what he is doing".

The point feels like a small victory. Not falling below .500 gives them something to build from. Lots of work to do with this team, our defensive play is poor, not generating enough chances, Smith’s goaltending suspect. What happened to that fast team that rolled through the likes of Nashville and Colorado? How can that group just disappear without a trace? Weird.
