I believe Josh Ho-Sang is an RFA and clearly he’s never truly been given a proper chance in NYI. Righty who’s 24 and could be a good low risk/high reward option depending on what NYI wanted for his rights. Thoughts?

Duclair has some baggage and it doesn’t sound like he’d come cheap;
Granlund would be good but again don’t know how cheap he’d be and Flames would definitely have to move Ryan which I would as I consider Granlund an upgrade;
I’d also look at the following guys for $1 million, not sure if they would do:
Galchenyuk - could be a good place for him to rebuild his value here, he’d play with some good players and he’d find a home on the right side power play with that one timer if his. He’s got a real good shot, I actually see him and Hoffman as very similar players but Hoffman has had consistency.
Perry - I think he’d be great for this team. Maybe he has worked up enough respect and a friendship with Tkachuk to convince him to come here.

If we currently had the extra cap space I would throw an offer Perry's way.
When you hate them, recruit them.

The best part about signing Perry would be not losing to his team in the first round.

I think Duclair’s ‘baggage’ is being overblown and he’s well spoken from his statement regarding the interview with Dorian. This isn’t the first time Ottawa has had issues with players during negotiations regardless of the fact that Duclair represented himself. Doughty and Ovechkin also represented themselves but you don’t see a big deal being made out of that. If Duclair was a righty I’d be all over trying to bring him on but we need right handed shots in our forwards and that needs to be the priority.

I think Perry could be a sneaky good add and he could teach Tkachuk some of his ways lol

However I get the feeling Ho Sangs baggage isn’t overblown. I’d be disappointed if they brought in another diva who expects all the things without putting in the effort.

It would confuse the opposition who wouldn’t know which face to try and punch first.

Doesn’t add up. No chance a team could call a press conference for 24 hour delay and not have Hall being signed be known. Not in this day and age. Granted I do think they will be the team to sign him.

would love to sign Duclair to a one-year show me contract, but I doubt he would sign for cheap (I'm thinking like 1 x $1M)
Dube - Bennett - Duclair
would be a great 3rd line

And he’d be falling on the other team’s goalie for a change. He is pretty slow, though.

One way or another, we need an RW. Not sure how we pull it off at this point, but we need something to improve the forward group.

I really do think the leash Ho-Sang has been given due to some issues as a junior player have hurt any chance he has at legitimately having an NHL career with the NYI and I think the electric factor he holds in his game and being a RH shot are things that could make him an interesting gamble at a relatively low cost.

Perry in the bottom 6 would be pretty interesting, that's for sure. I'm warming to the idea.
Mostly becuase it'll piss off so many opposing fans

There is no “rest of the money”, we need all of it to sign our RFA. Any money spent on upgrades needs to basically have similar money going out.

A Lucic - Bennett - Perry line has all sorts of toughness, tenacity, grit and annoyance.

That's true, no one beats the Flames more than the Flames themselves.

Who would take Ryan's cap hit without sending money back in current situation? It's not like he's hot commodity when better players can be had in firesale prices.
