They’ll probably do this thinking Ekholm will make Nurse a $9.25 million dollar Dman.
He still doesn’t have Barrie’s puck moving acumen, so… it’ll be a lot of heavy lifting for Mattias.
I would think trying him with Bouchard makes more sense, because he still has the ability to learn/grow from his mistakes.
It’s funny that despite their wagon of dominance and “being the team they’ve waited for” they don’t have the wiggle room to buffer a bit of learning/growth for a 23 year old Dman.
Nurse is what he is.

Typical Oiler media pom pom wavers. Team makes a couple of lateral roster moves and suddenly they're Cup favorites, lol. Adequate goaltending and good health might get them through one round, provided they also getting a great deal of help from the officials. But they still won't get anywhere near the Cup. Either one of Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, LA, or even Minny would take them out in 6 or less.
