Have to say. The Vancouber PBP team are much more tolerable now that the sedins and burrows are gone. They dont fawn and splooge like Dave Randorff or Paul Romaniuk that calls national games. Guy still sounds like Bert of Bert and Ernie fame.

Not starting 3 of your top 7 forwards is not anywhere close to starting your playoff lineup.

With Boston losing to Tampa today that means we clinched 2nd overall. Meaning we will have home ice advantage for all of the playoffs unless we meet Tampa in the finals, correct?

Nice. I could use a few days in Maui right about now. I'm envious.

I'm at the Bell Centre. Always a fun place. I know we don't like when too many Leaf fans are at our barn, but the atmosphere here is pretty good with all of them.
I am not sure if a foul, but too bad, I'm wearing my Flames shirt. We are better than both of them!

St Louis beats Vancouver in a shootout to take over the top spot in the Central (for now).
Nashville and Winnipeg are both in must-win scenarios tonight. If Nashville wins, they win the Division regardless of what the Jets do. If Nashville loses and the Jets win, the Jets will win the Division and the Preds will drop to third.
The Blues, Jets, and Predators could each still finish anywhere from first to third in the Division.

great win by St Louis - WPG and Nashville needs wins to pass St Louis in the standings. So a L or OTL by both teams means St Louis finishes as the #1 seed!

Here are all the possible scenarios for the top 3 in the Central Division... Nashville & Winnipeg both win:- NSH
- WPG
- STL
Nashville & Winnipeg both lose in regulation or both lose in OT/SO:- STL
- NSH
- WPG
Nashville loses in regulation / Winnipeg loses in OT/SO:- STL
- WPG
- NSH
Nashville wins / Winnipeg loses:- NSH
- STL
- WPG
Winnipeg wins / Nashville loses:- WPG
- STL
- NSH
If Winnipeg wins their game and Nashville loses in OT/SO, there would be a three-way tie in points, at 99. Winnipeg would get first because of their ROW. St Louis and Nashville would be tied in ROW and the Blues would get second place based on their head-to-head record this season.

Crosby scores to make it 1-0 Pittsburgh. He’s now sitting at 99 points. Would like to see him get 100 and that might be the quietest 100 points he’s ever had.

So the Lightning end up tying the record for most wins in a season with 62.
That means they lost 4 games every 20.
How does a team beat them 4 out of 7?
They maybe the most prohibitive favorites since the 76-77 Montreal Canadiens.

They also tied the 95-96 Red Wings with that 62nd win, who went 62-13-7. Keep in mind those are 7 ties, they would have won more with 3 on 3 OT and shootouts.
Detroit lost in 6 games to Colorado in the conference finals.

That team also got to play the Sharks and Senators who between them won 38 games that season. There was a way bigger separation between good and bad teams back then. I mean 5 teams in their conference made the playoffs with below .500 records.
That Wing team was extremely good though, you are correct.

Oddly enough, while Detroit only lost 13 times that year, they actually lost to both Ottawa and San Jose.
Detroit finished with 131 points and lost to Colorado who had 104 points (27 point separation).
This year, Tampa finished with 128 points while Boston has 107 (21 point separation). The Flames could make that a 19 point separation if we win tonight.

I think you mean 5 in every 20. 20 losses in 82 games is 1 in every 4.
Point remains.
