So, inverse relationship between "awesomeness of name" and "importance of position"?

I don't think that is right.

I voted for Rittich again as he's ahead of Gillies for now. Kulak is a good choice as well. He led defencemen in scoring in their playoffs and was a +4 with 4 points in 5 games.

Honestly, every one of the prospects who ends up in the top-ten this year is a really good prospect with a very bright future.
Incredulous retort? Really? Easy there big fella.

Phillips, Mangiapane, Poirier have middle 6 potential but about at 50% chance of making the jump. Dube and possibly Foo have a higher chance of success, but I project them both to be bottom 6. Went with Phillips for the higher upside, but couldn't argue with any of them. Only Poirier is likely to make it this year, if he can stay dry (perhaps an outside chance for Foo).

Seems to be an unnecessary editorial comment.

Wasn't intended as a shot, but I get your point. I've just seen a little too closely what the bottle can do to people, how hard it is to quit, and how it's equally hard to stay sober. I absolutely wish him all the best and believe he has great support, but the history is always a caution to me. And I have found that many who forget where they have come from are likely to end up back in the same dark place.

I think Ritchih here based on highest upside.

I don't think there is any top 4 D left and Magpie is the only forward left with top 6 potential.

So between MagPie and Ritchich I think the goalie has shown more this far.

Went with Pribyl. Great in the Czech League, injuries made his adjustment to North America non existent until the season started, looked alright then had more injury trouble.

The potential is still there in my eyes. He's still a big RH shot winger with soft hands and is terrific on the boards. IF he can stay healthy I think he'll surprise a lot of people

Almost went with Mangiapane or Klimchuk as well

Interesting choice. Prybl could be a dark horse to have a breakthrough season on Stockton.

The only hang ups for me are his health, obviously, but also if he doesn't make the NHL before his contract is up next July, I bet he goes back to Europe. But if he's healthy I think he surprises. He looked pretty good to start the year last year and that was with him rehabing from surgery all summer. Just sucked he ended up rehabing injuries all winter too

If he's healthy and lighting it up he's likely to get a call up at the least.

Spencer Foo will get a good look in the preseason games.

A bit of a ledge after 7. This is where I'll take players who could or even should make the team this year.
Hathaway then Kulak.

Lots of good options left. Lots of relatively high-upside players left.

I decided to go with Rittich. He acclimated very well to NA, put up really good numbers, looks great in net, and is a slightly older prospect (24). Now, a 24 year old prospect who hasn't had a lot of NHL experience is either a guy near busting, or a guy fresh from college. That holds true (for the most part) for skaters. Goalies? It just makes me believe that at the age of 24 and trending up, he is actually becoming a safer bet to make the NHL. Goalies are so difficult to try and figure out if they translate to the NHL. I think given Rittich's age and development curve, the NHL is in his reach.

I also figure since he came in and out-shined Gillies, it makes it difficult to rationalize him being selected much further down. I like Rittich here.

Went with Foo for the second time. I believe he is the farthest ahead on his development path with good middle 6 potential. Yes he is one of the older prospects, so he should be further along. I don't think that part should be overlooked though. He has continued to develop as he's gotten older and hasn't regressed or stalled. Many prospects at his age are either done or career AHL ers.

I find myself skipping over Kulak every round because I've pencilled him into the line up on the #6 spot. I guess I consider him an NHLer already.

I also think he has the inside track for the #6 spot this year, but I also see him as likely trade bait at the 2018 draft with the team needing spots for its abundant developing defensive talent.
