He's missing a "believe" after can't.

Voted Gilles. I am almost sure he's ready for the backup role and that's why in a lot of threads I've been railing on the Lack trade.

I just have not seen anything from Gillies to suggest that he is ready for the NHL this season. He was not even the best goalie on his team last year, and coming back from major surgery likely needs at least another year to get back on track in his development.

He definitely had a bit of an up and down season, but considering that his numbers were OK and that it was arguably his first actual professional season, it's reasonable to stay positive on his career trajectory.

Having a very solid first outing vs LA didn't hurt his chances either.

Of course this is all true, and I agree. However, where I disagree is with this premature notion that Gillies is ready to play in the NHL this year. In my opinion, he looked much too raw this past season to move up to the next level. I will feel much better after he has shown some real improvement in the AHL first.

I do feel that at this point in time, there isn't a whole lot of separation between the top 8-9 prospects in the organization. This years list will be interesting to take a look at in about 5-6 years. I really could see any of the top 10 guys on this list eventually having the most impactful career as a Flame.

I voted for Gilles, but Fox looks to be close, Foo is still somewhat unknown, and I think there's a lot to like about Dube. Even Poirier could be a wild card if he can get himself together off ice.
