And what are the odds that he beats Gillies for the starter role in the AHL. Gillies is one the best goalie prospects in hockey. And if Gillies fails, you would think management would want to test McDonald at the AHL level.
Let's face it. Rittich has a huge mountain to climb, and it's not like he's just starting his career, he's 24 years old.
