My favorite anecdote, that it took 20 minutes to play the final 1:25 of a game vs. Anaheim.

Old Time Hockey!

Fun fact, one of the linesmen in that game that roughly escorted Scott Nichol off the ice? None other than Don Henderson.

Probably the only thing anyone can fondly remember of Gilbert is his wave to keep Berube out there.

These were all awesome. Wish they would have included the brawl where the glass came down as well.

I don't remember Vernon wearing 29 for Calgary. O.o

Great article. I remember listening to the Ducks brawl on the radio when I was a kid. Great memories.

I went to the Anaheim brawl game with Bertuzzied! Definitely one of my favorite games of all time and there will never be a more memorable 4-0 loss.

My brain has apparently blocked out all memory of this. Crazy.

Getting old sucks.

Check out what he's wearing the next time NHLN has the '89 Flames on "Raising the Cup".

I still get angry when I see that white between the puck and the line. Coach challenge would have equalled Cup #2.

Nobody on the ice or upstairs noticed the play. I think people's memory of the actual play is a little foggy and way off.

The "goal" was not reviewed because nobody on either team even noticed until it was way too late.

Yeah I was at the game and had no idea of what happened until I believe the intermission. And than didn't get a good look at all the camera angles until the highlights at home on the TV. Although like you said even my memory of all that is foggy. But definitely was not made a big deal of until after the game.

I'm not sure if reviewed it would have counted anyways. The Bennett non goal was very similar from the Canucks series, and it didn't count.

I was also at that game. I got the seasons tickets from my work that night and took my little brother to his first-ever NHL game as it was his birthday. What an introduction! That was by far the most fun I've ever had watching the Flames lose, and I still hate the Ducks to this day.

If anything the Bennett goal was more definitive.

I was there at centre ice and said to the person I was with that I couldn't believe that was not in.

Later after returning home and seeing highlights I had my opinion confirmed.

It felt somewhat vindicating at the time realizing I was most likely right but me being right didn't win the Flames the cup, obviously. And the next game's result stunk
