Graham James granted extended day parole while seeking early release

Disgraced junior hockey coach and convicted sex offender Graham James is seeking full parole with the support of his case workers.

James is serving a seven-year sentence for sexually assaulting players he coached in the late 1980s and early ’90s with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League. He was convicted of sexually assaulting six of his former players hundreds of times during that period.

Documents from the Parole Board of Canada show James’s day parole, which was granted in January, has been extended for two months while the board schedules a hearing to consider his request for more freedom.

“You would like to be granted full parole,” states the decision dated July 8. “You have rented an apartment where you plan on living on your own. There are no financial concerns. Family members have been deemed to be positive supports.

I honestly think that serial pedo's like James should have a condition attached to their parole where they're castrated and a tattoo is put on their forehead that says, do not trust me around your children.

Until the day comes where there's a drug or a brain surgery that turns off their urges to f kids, they should never ever get out.

Plenty of states get this right including Texas and in Colorado specifically, prison justice rules for people like this POS.

I have to agree with the sentiments here. Our law makers have failed us not treating this closer to homocide. These children's lives are taken by these predators. Any chance they had at having a normal life is gone when they get abused sexually.

And the fact that it's such a cowardly act against an innocent and indefensible child makes it far more horrendous. Even considering that prisoners impose their own justice on child pedophiles in prison tells you that even among the least moral and functioning citizens in society is such crimes worth the ultimate punishment, so why are judges and law makers treating them as lesser crimes? Put punishments to national referendum and I bet society chooses a fitting punishment for these guys

There's no rehab and rehabilitating someone like him. 7 years for hundreds of assaults against various kids is a pathetic sentence. And that's only the ones we know about.

It's disgusting that he is getting let out.

Kind of curious where you are getting this from...I live in China and there is basically no children's rights here. Maybe in severe cases this would be the punishment, but it's crazy how children have no protection under the law.

Replace number one with selling hard drugs and you are 100% correct.
