No, I'm aware, and I agree to a certain extent, although Mattson is extremely raw still.
I just assumed someone might have voted for AOM and I wanted people to be aware that there are two Mattsons who are very different players.

Andersson again. I just don't see the high ceiling in Shinkaruk.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Until eat bread gets the same chance, you have nothing to really compare, and it's possible that the NHL is too big for Mangiapane.
I think seeing them both at training camp will probably sort a lot of that out.

I've never been a fan, nothing too specific. I just don't like his game.

my ranking coming into last week would have been Andersson, Kylington, Hickey ... but Andersson's fitness and looking bagged in the scrimmage coupled with Kylington going full Brodie make me re-rank things.
And I'll be the first to admit that an on looker can certainly over do adjustments and go ditch to ditch on these things, as truly not a lot has changed since last Monday.

I have decided that I am absolutely not voting for Andersson. It's great to have all of the god given talent he has, but if his commitment to be a professional is lacking, I just will not support it ahead of those who strive to compete and push themselves. And apparently I may have stayed out a bit too late last night...just a little grumpy.

Just a general question - how are Shinkaruk and Wotherspoon not on the top of the list? They're the ones most likely to play NHL games this season.

Everyone has different criteria when ranking prospects. NHL readiness is just one criteria that I look at myself, but when looking at two prospects who are close to each other in skillsets and projected ceilings, I take the guy who is closer to being NHL ready.

I recall reading about that Drew Doughty was not that motivated either as far as fitness was concerned until he figured it out. Look where he is now.

With Wotherspoon it's probably because he has been "NHL ready" for a good 3 years now, but has never managed to crack the line up.
With Shinkaruk, who knows. The kid is a former first rounder that looked great playing on the top line last season. I think he is easily one of our top 5 prospects. It might be because he's new to the system and therefore nobody has much emotional attachment to him.

Voted Andersson. It is good to see the prospects we have at defense now.
The next few rounds are going to be interesting to see where Poirier and Mangiapanne slot in

Or trade value ...
I think trade value incorporates the ceiling, the floor, the timeline ... all of it.

I got to keep pushing Shinkaruk.
So much talent and he's NHL ready. Might even be in our top 6 now that Hudler, Raymond, Jooris and Colborne gone

Shinkurak looked really good in his short stint with the Flames last year, so I had to go with him. He's NHL ready and he fills a much needed hole of RW's even with the signing of Brouwer.

Shinkaruk has a really high ceiling and really good chances of making the NHL? Wotherspoon, however, is now bordering on not making the NHL and ceiling isn't that high

I have to agreed with the sentiment other posters have given for Shinkaruk. Voted for him. Smallish but good skills with some tenacity and energy. Hope he keeps that going.

I voted for Shinkaruk but pretty disappointing that Poirier and Klimchuk are not even in the discussion yet. I hope both of them pick it up this next season or they are going to start looking like busts (in this case, busts = not top 6 forwards)
