If that doesn't break the curse nothing will.
EDIT: No ill will there either. Glad he found a team to give him a chance.

Good for him. He's a really good guy, it just didn't work out here.

Does this mean that the ducks had potential interest of doing so but wanted to handicap the flames with the buyout first or does the buyout cap hit disappear if someone else signs them?

Mason Raymond only scores against Canadian teams. Watch him score a hattrick when the Ducks play the Flames.

They like their old guys who can skate (even if they can't do anything else) in Anaheim.

Watch him catch on with Getzlaf/Perry and put up 40 points

well Carlyle did get 19 goals and 45 points out of him in Toronto a couple of years ago. Surely worth a try.
good luck.

Can't imagine that's the case at all.
No. Raymond gets both.

Wow, I actually predicted something..... Weird.
As much as I hated on his play, I do hope he finds success

They're really intent on re-creating the Sedins' hayday era Canucks.

Not a bad landing spot if he can stick with them.

Are they trying to become the 2011 Canucks?

Wonder if it's one or two way? Best I'd think he could hope for now is a lowball one year show me deal.
That said, Raymond seemed like a good teammate and hard worker; nice to see him get another chance

Bizarre move. The Ducks are all about powerforwards, puck possession and cycling. Raymond is like the antithesis of their game. It's hard for me to imagine him lasting the year there.

I hope he makes the lineup and we play the Ducks a lot early in the season before they shoot him out of a cannon.
