Being more consistent really helps a fella enjoy the game more.

We play je marriot desert springs on Sunday morning. Supposed to be close to 80 this weekend
Your game sounds just like mine

Drove by TPC Fox Hollow this morning. Still a fair amount of snow and ice on the fairways. Probably at least another week of days like Friday before they can think about opening.

Golfed at the marriot desert springs today in Palm desert today. Errific day for golf. 85 amd sunny with very little wind

This was the first round I booked thru golf now. When I booked it was $209 for the two of us. When I got to the course, they guy informed us it was $416…. I was stunned and just paid, thinking I screwed up and booked the wrong course and just paid. Needless to say I was chapped and stumbled thru the first two holes then got going. And then fell apart on 15 and stumbled and bumbled my way home for a 107.

On my way out, I decided to go back to pro-shop and get clarification on the green fees. Turns out there was a glitch in thier system and I wound up getting $209 refunded to me. We got the junior rate. Funny though, how it always takes a few days for the credit to show up on your card, but the charge is instant.

Managed to find a decent rate for pga west mtn course and the wife does not want to golf, so I thought, what the heck, I may never be back here to golf again

Played there for $60 off golfnow at Christmas 2021. Not a bad course.

Try and play desert willow fire cliff across the street. Amazing course.

Are there any courses on Vancouver island worth putting some effort into playing? We’ll be in Qualicum Beach for a week with my very avid golfing son. I know the qualicum beach/parksville courses well but was wondering if there are any worth a bit of a drive?

Around Victoria there definitely are some really nice ones.

On Tuesday I played pga west - mountain course. Shot a 102, and I was terrible on 1 and two, 9 and 14.

Really different course relative to what we see here in Ab and SE BC. Greens were sort of small, and skewed towards faster. It was hard to get balls to stick.

Used GolfNow and found a $200 tee time as the wife did not want to golf that day ( we would have spent more on green fees if she had golfed that day - we would have picked another course though)

Would be nice to golf this again now that I know it.

I sure like the resort courses in PS.

Played a birthday round at McCleery in Vancouver yesterday; shot 94.
Was 45 through 9 including a terrible 4 putt, so otherwise a very good 9 for me.

Couldn't hold it together on the back to break 90 for the first time. It's coming though, gotta break 90 this year!

Oh and I missed a 2 footer for birdie on #17 after a perfect 9 iron approach; FML.

I would recommend Pheasant Glen near Qualicum Beach. The back nine is awesome and greens roll great. If you drive up to Campbell River, Storey Creek is an absolute gem. Must play if you are in the area.

Anyone know what the deal is with Maple Ridge? Are they planning on staying closed for the first part of the season to continue renovation work? From Deerfoot and southland it looks like they still have lots to go in terms earth moving and sodding, and I'd imagine they'd need significant spring weather to get it done.

It's going to be 4 straight days in the teens, I was kind of hoping someone would be able to get up and running this weekend... probably too optimistic given the runoff that needs to happen I guess.

Apparently Wingfield is opening on Sunday on temporary greens. Compared to the one time I played there a couple years ago, that would take the gopher holes out of play!

I was looking at the serenity website yesterday and got excited as it said sun catcher 18 now open…….a free looking at tee times, I came to the conclusion that the banner did not mean that you could book a tee time for this weekend, but rather a general announcement that the 18 was open

I saw a comment on the Facebook suggesting fox hollow will open Thursday

If you are in quualicum go north and play Storey Creek. It is a top course. Nanaimo has a decent track and Qualicum itself has a nice little local track that is worth a twilight time.
