A bit of a lowlight reel for Poirier in this one. Got danced for a good chance, and fanned a pass right to VGK for the 2 on 1 but the SH goal against is what concerns me the most. Just watch him try to skate, it’s like he’s running through cement. Not the first breakaway I’ve seen him struggling to keep up with this season either.
However his hockey IQ and good offensive production keep him overall positive, but some of the bad plays are just so bad that you know an NHL coach (and specifically Sutter) will never play this guy.

Since the Wranglers game ended Friday afternoon, Coachella Valley has played 2 of their 3 games in hand, winning both. The Wranglers' lead is now only 2 points.
The Firebirds can close the gap on Monday against San Jose prior to the battle for first on Wednesday.

The Wrangler playoff tickets seem pretty out of touch with reality.
STH received an email saying that STH will enjoy 45-65% off door pricing for playoffs. It will cost $71 (STH cost) per seat for the first round (Even if it’s as few as 2 games played or as many as many as 3 in a best of 5). On the surface, that doesn’t seem like a bad price… but keep in mind that’s the “STH price”
That means, if it’s 50% off (for simple math), the “door price” per game before ticketmaster fees will be close to $75 a ticket!
FOR AHL PLAYOFFS!
If the flames do happen to make the playoffs, that price point is going to lead to a VERY empty dome for the Wranglers.

I may be doing my math wrong but it looks like it's 315 per seat for the entire playoffs. Or 26.25 a game which seems reasonable since if we make it to the finals tickets will be $43 (26.25×1.65) before fees for general tickets
I rage posted after getting off the phone so it’s entirely possible that my math is wrong. But she didn’t correct me when I inquired about the Door Price being $60-$70 a ticket.
I do think it’s a bit slimy that we won’t be refunded for unplayed games in a series.
I believe the price will be the same whether we have a 1st round bye or not.
EDIT: I may have been fed some false information from the phone rep.

Really hoping the Wranglers can string a long playoff run together. Its not looking like the big team is going to fill the playoff void so there is a definite opportunity here.
Wrangler playoff games could be a lot of fun with a decent crowd.
If tickets are $60-$70 per, then I'm not interested. That's too much for AHL hockey. Would love to go, but not at that price. Hopefully cheaper options emerge.
