Nothing more gripping than a round 30 run off!

Rittich
Falkovsky

Voted Falkovsky.

Per TPP, 3 out of 5 defensemen of similar height, who also posted an NHLe of 14 +/-2 in their draft+1 year became NHLers. Those defensemen are:

Code:
Name Position	Overall Level NHLe
Libor Ustrnul D Bust 12
Braydon Coburn D NHL 12
Dustin Byfuglien	D NHL 15
Tyler Myers D NHL 16
Derek Forbort D Bust 14
And a fourth player on that list, Derek Forbort, may just be a late bloomer.

The Big Falkovsky again...
Pros: Big shot, good puck skills, mobile, agile, ginormous
Con*: gongshow defensively
*Hoping this can taught

When Falkovsky is your second last prospect that's pretty exciting for flames future.

I actually had it closed with Rittich as the winner, but damn sense of fairness pushed me into the damn run off.

Yes I don't see a need to rush these things in August.

But I honestly don't have a lot of interest in a round 30 run off.

Both are flier type players. I just think Falkovsky has some unique attributes.

Falkovsky is a 6'7" Russian defenseman who came over to the OHL and put up 32 points in 58 games his rookie year. That's probably based purely on hockey sense, since he has no idea what his coach is saying due to the language barrier.

That's hightly respectable.

Rittich, however, is a 23 yr old free agent out of Czech coming to NA for the first time and will like be an AHL or ECHL backup

Falkovsky. Rittich didn't impress me during development camp.

Almost 100 votes in and the separation is 1 vote.

I have a suspicion that the CP community is privately trolling Bingo's run off polls for ####s and giggles.

The funny thing is, both these prospects at round 30 can't be shrugged off as legitimate prospects. Either one are long shots really, but anyone saying they are future AHL or ECHL ceiling-types can't be listened to. They both still have NHL upside and are legitimate prospects, and that's pretty darn good for round 30.

Rittich is not going to beat Elliot, Johnson, Gillies and McDonald this year for a job. Unless there's some serious bad luck, injuries and poor performances in goal, that's where Rittich will end up this season. He'll have to earn a starter job in the lower ranks before even getting a sniff of a backup job in the NHL

He will be 24 before stepping on the ice again. At no time will he be 23 during the 2016-2017 season.

This season can not start soon enough...
