Did the suite at Le Germain that included a four course meal from Charcut on Friday night ... Excellent meal - was totally stuffed! Huge benefit having the restaurant right downstairs but felt like and actual night out... Good meal and a great idea for a birthday present for the wife...

Nice. What options did they include for the dinner?

Can't think of anything specific, however, for the other comments about not trusting delivery....which are all entirely valid & I agree with....however, there is a pick-up option via Door Dash
The downside is it screws over the restaurant as they're still paying a fee to DD even though DD only forwards the order on to them.
Still, if the delivery is a concern for you, this is an option.

Local drama around "Rocky's Italian", which is pretty obviously a money laundering front in the NW

Had take out from La Brezza for dinner. Best Italian in the city IMO.
They have a takeout special; bruschetta, choice of salad, choice of pasta, and tiramisu. $28. Great value.
Hard to keep pasta in pristine condition with take out, but even after the 20min drive home it was delicious. Would recommend and we'll be ordering again soon. 2 take out specials were enough for 3 (2 adults, one 5 yr old) and we'll have leftovers for lunch.
Edit: Also, their stuffed mushrooms are to die for.

Thai drive thru hut - 52nd and Macleod
So there's a little hut next to OMO on Macleod. There's always something opening and closing down in short order.
But there's a new Thai place there, and I pass and there is a line about 6 vehicles deep onto Macleod at 4pm. Anyone try this one yet?

Yes! I tried the $6 Banh Mi and it was pretty good. Hopefully they stick around.

There was a huge charcuterie plate, then choice of beet salad or soup, for mains it was steak, pasta, or rotisserie chicken then a cheesecake type thing in a jar plus a $30 bottle of red or white...

Anyone have any good tips to support local on a Super Bowl curbside pickup deal?
Was looking at the Native Tounges deal, but seems like a little much for just the wife and I.

Buddy of mine manages Madisons in Beddington ( http://www.madisons.ca/home.html). He's a huge NFL fan and the lack of Super Bowl parties is killing him this year.
He's currently running 20% off all menu items for Super Bowl Sunday, and is trying to get authorization for a Super Bowl bundle/menu.
If you want pizza, call and order the Randy Special.
Long story short, there's a fellow named Randy that may or may not have worked at another pizza place and may or may not have brought a few recipes with him. You can only get said pizza if Randy is working that day. And if you know to order the Randy Special.
It's not on their menu but it's the best goddamn pizza I've ever had, and I've scoured NY and Chicago.
Mention my user name and he'll likely throw in a little extra.

I assume you have to tell him to F-Off and then ask for Rob Kerr?

I've had it repeatedly and it's my new go-to burger place - good burgers with all kinds of toppings, amazing chicken sandwich, delish shakes, samosas and fantastic bubble tea. And the staff is amazing.

It's actually a Viet place and I really hope they do well because again, the guy that runs it is super nice. I'm glad when I get there (as it's down the street from my office so I usually just walk over) and the cars are lined up onto Macleod. Awesome portions on the meat and spring rolls and they don't stuff it full of filler like sprouts and lettuce. The bubble tea is good and since I don't like fish sauce, he always gives me peanut sauce as a substitute. And the kicker is the super low prices!

To Me is the little hut.
It has good Viet subs, I think the one I got was $6 and it was good. $6 for a good sub, yeah I can't remember if Subway ever ticked that box.
My wife has a vermicelli and said it was very good.

Until I recently moved out of the area, I was a frequent customer. The people running it are really nice and I haven't had a bad sub yet. Sucks I'll have to drive now when if I want one. And they don't ask for a tip, which I appreciate, so I buy a can of pop.
