I did a quick check of burger restaurants in Aurora. They have decent options. But, anyway, that is how it goes with a new chain opening up. It’ll settle down.

Yeah, no different than when Fatburger, Popeye's, Carl's Jr, and Krispy Kreme all opened their first locations in Calgary.

I like In N Out but 12 hours is beyond ridiculous. So much hype there

I'd wait that long. Especially if there was one in Calgary.

In N Out isn’t just in n out as the name suggests? It’s poorly named.

Made a burger tonight, no burger buns but I had sausage buns.
What do you do there, do you make it normal shaped and cut it up?
Do you make it long and flat?
No, you make it turd shaped, I would say hot dog shaped but it looks like a turd.
Few observations:
Sausage buns are better than burger buns
Sausage buns are shaped perfectly for a nice thick bacon slice down the side
Romaine lettuce is V-shaped which fits perfectly in a sausage bun
Pickle slices fit better and don't slide around
Turd shaped burgers have more surface area to brown = more delicious
Much less mess, everything just holds together better
Downsides:
You can't melt cheese on the burger so you have to melt it on the bun. No biggie, probably just as good. Might try a cheese stuffed next time?
Don't think tomatoes would work well unless chopped but I didn't have any so no problem. Salsa would probably be good!
I don't think I'll ever make a regular burger again.

Friday I was in a rush so grabbed Fatburger on the way home. It was ok, but for 2 adults and one child came to over $55. Just regular burgers and fries stuff too, nothing extra. They were busy though which was good to see and the fries were above average.
For value I prefer Original Joe's - Ive ordered their takeout and its good even when its not hot. Plus you get 2 sides as well

I'm sad the Original Joes down on 130th ave. closed up. The food, especially the burgers, were always really good and the value was pretty good too.

I think we are gonna get take away from Buchanan's this week.
Their burgers are top notch.

If you leave in the inner SW, a good take-out option is The Goose. Both their Goose Burger (mushrooms and cheese curds) or their regular Cheeseburger are solid picks. Good bun to burger ratio, fresh toppings, everything hangs together. It's on Elbow between Glenmore and Heritage. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for me. ~$20 for a burger and fries which would be $3-4 more than I would spend at Fatburger but I would say it is a step up.

I'll second this. The Poblano Burger this summer was the best burger I've had in a long while.

One day this summer I had a business meeting at Fergus & Bix and had my standard which is the Poblano Burger. I came home and was raving about it to my wife. It was just so on point for the day.
We went that evening for burgers, I don't recall which one she had, but I had another Poblano burger.
I am both ashamed and proud of myself.

I hopped in to recommend the Kona burger from Original Joes. I've ordered it a couple of times as a take away and I've not been disappointed!
It's very messy and very delicious!

Is that with pineapple and teriyaki sauce? Matador does a burger like that.

It is light years better than the Horny Toad. They have done a ton of work to make the space bright and inviting. Same group that owns Gorilla Whale and Beltliner. Can recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner once dining in is an option again.
