There’s a difference between a smart, capable, organized, backed candidate like Nenshi and the Mickey Mouse candidates who crawl out of the woodwork every election.

so nenshi now feels mask protests are all about supremacy:
https://globalnews.ca/video/7844959/...alist-protests
wonder if he has had an awakening about the stampede as well?
i picked up on this as i saw that mckenna had retweeted the story. nenshi really seems to be embracing the liberals division playbook. May as well annouce his federal candidacy now.

There was nothing 'thinly veiled' about the white supremacy at some of those protests.

Also interesting from this story;
But he also points to a turnover in membership on CCCO as making a difference.
"A CCCO that sees its role as oversight and more stringently perhaps than it did before," said Nenshi.
Currently, the members of CCCO are Colley-Urquhart (chair), Coun. Jyoti Gondek, Coun. Druh Farrell, Coun. Evan Woolley and Coun. Shane Keating.
Prior to October 2020, CCCO members were Jones (chair), Coun. Sean Chu, Coun. Jeromy Farkas, Coun. Joe Magliocca and Coun. Keating.

Wasn’t it Ray Jones that also claims he doesn’t remember authorizing 100k for persons overtime?

I know that there's basically no bar that political candidates have to rise above to run for office, but I kind of feel that "Hasn't been convicted of hate crimes" SHOULD be one of them...

Even as chair of CCCO, Colley-Urquhart said she still doesn't know what special project the woman was hired to do or why the employment went on as long as it did.

How does a special project employee get paid nearly $100k and nobody know what it was for?

Hm, I guess the suit that he's been convicted on so far is 'just' libel, containing hate speech. Should still count.

If you are selling hateful merchandise on your website, maybe that should be close enough?

I don't agree. How do you clearly define this bar without any sort of grey area, which is needed, as different candidates will have different issues.
A criminal record is a clear bar you could implement if one wished. Or a criminal offense less then x years perhaps.
As much as Trump showed us the terrifying reality that can occur, at some point you must trust the populace to not support a racist ignorant COVID denier.
If they get a elected, by splitting the vote or majority of votes, it is a reflection on at least a large amount of people wanted.
We can't simply outlaw candidates because we find them distasteful, the vote has to be allowed to be held, and the restrictions on being a candidate should error on allowing more to run then less.
And I find Kevin J absolutely embarrassing that his running here, even if he isn't from here, but so be it.

For starters, Artur Pawlowski (Street Church guy) is one of the main organizers of these rallies, and aside from his repeated homophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-muslim, and pro-white sermons and protests pre-COVID, he also has ties to multiple hate groups including the Soldiers of Odin (so does Kevin Johnston, while we're on the topic).
This is what is scary. People are being sucked in by these hate groups without even realizing it.
