The Blues were caught tampering back in 1999, trying to get Scott Stevens.
They had to pay the New Jersey Devils $1.4 million, give the Devils a first-round pick (within the next 5 years), and the New Jersey had a one-time option of swapping first-round draft picks with St. Louis.
Not sure who they picked with the 1st round pick, but the swap landed them Parise

My bet is that the Blues saying that they are considering filing tampering charges is just a shot across the bow and nothing more will come of this. If they really wanted to do this, or had enough evidence they would just go ahead and file the charges instead of letting it be known that they are considering it.

Hope they do. Take some of the wind out of their sails. This Vegas team is too good and everybody wants to play for them, not good for the rest of the Pacific.

Schmidt wasn't pleased they dumped him, they traded him to a team not on his No Trade List and didn't even talk to him until it was done
Hopefully some players think twice
