Didn't what's his name in here say Vancouver was giving him 5+?
Out east is good, although I'm not sure how good he actually is...little over rated to me

Pretty good deal. Only takes him to 32, so these should be 4 productive years for him.
Toffoli on a deal like this would have been a clear win for the Flames and an upgrade to the team. I still just can't like that Tanev deal at the end of the day when all these other great value contracts are being handed out.

Do we really have to do this with every signing? Flames don't get a chance to match every signing. 31 teams and guys are free to go where they want.

That's less than I thought he would get, but still more than I would have given him.

Yeah, the frustration of having our top forwards fold in the playoffs still isn't gone - so this will be an off-season of heavy criticism of a group that has continually choked.

Inevitable comparison, as it is essentially the same contract as Tanev. I think I would have preferred Toffoli, but I am glad we got one of them. We needed both, but could only afford one.

Not bad. I would have liked that deal on a 3 year term for the Flames.
Weird the Canucks couldn’t have made that work?

I do that deal all day no questions it’s comparable to the Hudler deal IMO. Damn.
Their right side is packed now with Anderson, Toffoli and Gallagher... I wonder if a deal could be had for Gallagher??

End of the day the Flames needed a second pair RD more than a second line RW even though it is close

True but flames are losing out on all the big names still out there.

Doesn't sound like the flames were ever that high on Toffoli. Could have got him at the trade deadline or now but passed both times.
I have to believe that they will address the forward group shakeup with a trade.
It makes sense they shored up the defense with Tanev versus signing Tofolli. Losing Brodie and Hamonic left a big hole on the right side and Mangiapane was ok in the top 6. Bringing in Tofolli would have pushed him down which isn't necessary at this time.

REALLY surprised that the Canucks wouldn't have given him that.
I know Blaster will be along to tell us that Benning was only willing to offer XXX, but at the end of the day, you have to pay the palyers what they are worth.
The Canucks have taken a downgrade in goal, and have watched Tanev, Stecher and Toffoli walk.
Dim Jim is knocking it out of the park!
