Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
Rick Nash officially calls it a career at the age of 34 after 1,060 #NHL games. One Rocket Richard Trophy, two Olympic gold medals, struggled with injury second half of his career.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Nash puts health and family first as key factors in his retirement decision. Toronto, San Jose, Columbus, Boston and Pittsburgh were among the teams checking in on his status over the past few months.

Great career, Blue Jackets legend. Incredibly skilled player in his prime.

Didn't know about his health issues and was hoping the Flames would take a look in July.
Nash had all the tools but was on some pretty bad Columbus teams.
He was a lot of fun to watch and it's too bad concussions claims another career.

Great player. Hopefully he's walking away early enough that he doesn't have to live with anything too rough.

Thanks for the golds!

Great player. I wouldn't say concussion claimed his career, there wasn't much gas left in that tank.

Good effective player in his prime when he played.

I didnt know about the head issues but would have been surprised if anyone gave him serious money this year as the games current footspeed has probably passed him by.

He has had gross revenue of 50M plus of his career, so long as he doesnt invest in too many car washes or restaurants he will be fine.

.
Friedman says that a team offered Nash a 3 year deal worth $16 million in the summer which he obviously turned down.

That might be true but who knows when these concussions started affecting him.

Word from McLean is that Nash had 8 separate offers last summer all of which were 4M+.

He turned them all down because e was pretty sure he couldn't play any longer even though he wanted to. That's integrity.

Hope he gets it all figured out and lives a lng ealthy life.

Too young to retire, but respect the decision to forgo millions for his health.

Hopefully he saved his pennies over the years.
