Is Smith getting the start then?
I recall one of the pros to acquiring Mike Smith two years ago was that he always played really well against the Flames. In his last five starts v. Calgary going back to the 2015–16 season Smith has a 2-2-1 record, and has allowed 10 GA 158 SOG (0.937). His last start was a 36-save shutout.

Come on boys, big win tonight.
Time to show those no-gooding no goods exactly how no good they are.

I imagine Neal will be booed quite aggressively. I can't quite figure out how the fans will react to Smith.

I hope Neal gets booed but not Smith. Smith came in and did what he had to do in terms of filling the pipes until Gillies.....until Rittich was ready to take over.
AND was the only guy who showed up against Colorado

No doubt this is the Oilers' Stanley Cup tonight, so the Flames will need to be ready for this one.
We're the better team with superior depth and goaltending. Just come out flying, get the early lead, stick to your game plan, and win.

Nope, I’ll be booing Smith. He delivered sub-par goaltending and was always an Oiler.
...I will also be booing Neal.
This is the Battle of Alberta.

I loved that Mark Spector troll job on December 27th about the Oilers playing a tribute to Lucic and Talbot and wondered what Calgary would do with Neal and Smith.
He ignores they did nothing for Reider (one season), but thinks Neal who had one season in Calgary should get one?

I hate the Oilers so much but this isn't really a good argument in fact it makes them look better.
$24.95 million combined for 143 points = 5.73 points per million
$21 million combined for 139 points 6.61= points per million

Although it would be hilarious if they did a Neal montage. It'd be what, 10 seconds long?

That's an interesting choice, since the Flames seem to have figured Koskinen out. He's sporting a 0.889 SP in his last five starts, which includes a 42-save effort v. NYR.
