At least there is hope now.
For years the Flames came up short in the draft year in and year out, and you had to wonder if they'd ever build up the system.
Then starting in 2015 non 1st rounders started showing a pretty decent "hit" rate ... Andersson, Kylington, Mangiapane, Parsons (giving the goalie more time), Dube, Fox, Phillips and then some interesting names that are developing in Ruzicka, Petterson, Zavgorodniy.
Seems like the Flames have gone from one to three players added per year ...
Teams that do that keep windows open much longer.
