thing is Smith actually deserved it earlier in the season...I don't think he has many "haters" now
It's down to 2. But that's neither here nor there. I'm not headhunting really, just some equally intrusive posters about Smith compared to Love/Monahan.
What the doctor ordered for Monahan. Now the sooner we win the conference the better. I think we might see some intensity on the Sharks game from both teams.
Smith strengthened his hold on the playoff starter job IMO.
Just clinch against SJ on Sunday. then shut all the core down to rest up. Get that last call up used on Valimaki and get him up to NHL speed too. I just know our depth is going to be tested . especially if we run into that dirty SOB Landeskog in round #1.

I certainly hated his play earlier in the season...he has certainly been much better.
Pretty hard to argue either goalie starting game 1
How about Mark Giordano this game. I was so impressed with him through 2. He made that one gaff in the third and boy Andersson bailed him out, remained calm and looked like a a seasoned vet.
Just woke from my nap. Final week of ducks hockey for the year, make it count.

Game, go Duckarooskies! Miller is starting, according to Lisa Dillman. Dotchin is back with the team as well.

Forgot there was a game tonight, hooray! Screw you, dateline.

GDT bot is missing our injuries, Getzlaf, Manson, Kase, Kesler, Eaves, Guhle, and Ritchie are all injured

One goal from each rookie + lose by one please
And no injuries
Gio ties it with a cannon
Quote:
oh man, if only Jones had scored there
Quote:
Max Jones is having some type of Cogliano first season lol. Needed to be patient or lift the puck there.
And goal, that **** happens so much.
Quote:
Sprong has been programmed to tank lol.
Quote:
dammit … could’ve been 2 zip … now tied on a completely lucky shot.
Quote:
Max Jones has gotta score that, I feel like I've said that 5-10 times already. Which I guess is a positive since he's always around.
And Miller has got to have that. That can't go in, dude.
Quote:
God, I hate Mike Smith. One of his Dora the Explorer puck handling adventures is going to backfire spectacularly.
Quote:
Uh....hey Larson, maybe DONT let Giordano take a wide open shot? Come out and take him dude.
Quote:
It would really suck if something happened to Gio's knee before their playoff run...
Quote:
He weaponizes his knees but he’s not number one. He’s rightly disliked though
Quote:
He looks like a thumb
Quote:
That was an ok first period. Looked a lot better in the second half, passes connected more towards the end.
Monahan with a Career High

Well that vuvezela is working wonders for my anger management

Has that pairing been on for every goal? Jesus.

Has this team connected on a pass yet?
Neal Credited Late

It wasn't a hat trick dumb asses

Lmao @ Terry trying to go one v one against Monaghan
Quote:
The only time when Sprong waits to shoot is when he has Smith way out...sigh
Quote:
What the hell is Neal's problem. 6 goals all year?
Quote:
We look Randy-Capped tonight.

God and ####ing Neal got the goal too. This is the worst game scenario
Doc with a Nifty Tip

Miller aged dramatically over the last month. Dude looked really old tonight.

Oof. Right in the mind

I am going to be really bummed if Megna is just playing up to our tank and breaks out next year.

Looking brutal this period so far. Getting nothing going here
Hathaway follows suit

Bad Max

Jones can not catch a break.

Stay out of the box this period ..

What a tip-in
Quote:
Man, smith tonight lucky and good…
And we weren’t solid in the D zone for RM..
Quote:
Injuries and Randy Carlyle. Although the injuries excuse is probably why Randy stayed on as coach for as long as he did.
Mony off a stick

Come on boys … gotta clear that …
Quote:
Why do we even have defense on the ice if all they’re going to do is stand there and watch the play?
Quote:
All I know is we’re giving Calgary the confidence they need which sucks

Dalton Prout sounds like someone who is either pretty good at baseball or owns a semi-successful sandwich shop.

Happy to see the tank back on track. Have fun in the playoffs Flames fans!

Damn. Great save followed by a goal!

Poor Miller...

The vaunted empty net 3rd period Gatorade fueled rally cap comeback strategy seems to having some issues in Cow **** Town. Tried for the dive off a face off and the classic look up at the ref with outstretched palms but the ref didn’t bite.
Eat **** Flames.

The Flames downfall will be their goaltending. I do not see it holding up for a full Stanley cup run.
Quote:
Sharks are a weird org. You go out and get players like Karlsson and Kane but don't do one thing to improve your goaltending. So that its reliance on shaky Jones yet again. never been big on him. They are limping to the playoffs. Really tragic as Calgary placing first probably see's them through the first round. Unless they end up facing Dallas who has their number. I'm hoping they see Dallas, but they get the lower Wild card team, likely Colorado, don't they? I can't see the AV's playing an airtight enough playoff game to get through anybody.
So its looking like Vegas vs Sharks in a first round slobberknocker, probably goes 6-7 games with both clubs killing each other to Face Flames who have far easier first round opponent. I think Vegas beats the Sharks in first round. This is an old Sharks club. Past best date.
Quote:
Flames get a PP. Blatant missed trip before that. I swear it's hilarious when Flames fans complain about calls. They are #1 or 2 in PP's
Quote:
It's too bad Gio is 35 for Flames fans. It's mind boggling the season he is having. Huge drop off next year.
Brutal goal let in by Miller
Freebie for the Flames

Sean the garbage man Monahan buries two gimmies.
One of the least effactive C i have seen. It's quite a feat that he is consistent. Invisible everytime I look for him then bammm puts a Smyth like goal
Preparing for Vegas

Watching Miller play Calgary, I can’t believe some Sharks fans wanted this guy...

If Wild can hold on to beat Vegas and the Sharks somehow beat Vegas tomorrow they will clinch 2nd place and then can rest their other players such as Thornton,Burns, and Couture.
Quote:
6 points up on Vegas for home ice in the first round... Vegas has a game in hand.
If they don't beat Detroit on Monday, I'm going to be really worried about falling to 3rd.
Quote:
Do you guys feel like we are going to get to 9 losses in a row?
Quote:
I honestly think we're playing a good brand of hockey. Sure we can do better, im not going to be blinded just cuz a W didn't come up.
Quote:
There is nothing good about this kind of hockey. Lazy, uninspired, poor defense, poor goaltending.

Smith played well, but that was basically an AHL team.

The oiler fan (dat salt tho) makes a good point. Flames facing Colorado while the sharks and knights beat up eachother over a long series really bodes well for Calgary.
The thing I like most is that now we can go to SJS and clinch with a win there. That's the perfect way to set the tone for a potential meeting in the 2nd round - clinch first place by directly beating them in their own rink.
