I cant help but think tomorrow night we see the Flames really play a complete game and not only get the win but really start grabbing some much needed momentum. Its an uphill battle but if there's any Flames team I've seen in the last few decades that could do it, its this one.
We have had a fun season being 2nd overall in the regular season. Coming first in our division and conference for the first time in many years. Record seasons by Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm and Giordano. Giordano with a Norris worthy, Peters with an Adam worthy, and Treliving with a GM of the year worthy season. Gaudreau will get some votes for the Hart as well.
Most of these players don't have much playoff experience and that has showed so far. In the beginning of the season, most of us would be happy knowing that the Flames made it in to the playoffs, let alone won the western conference. There are changes to be made in the off-season, and there will be. But we also have one more game left, and then hopefully another and then another. It has been a season that the Flames have beaten expectations, so let us be positive that they can make this a series.
Win game 5 to get some confidence back in the team and take some of it away from the Aves. Win one to get things rolling! Game of inches and bounces, could easily be up 3-1.
I'll be the first to admit too that I'm not beyond the irrational venting and crapping on the team after devastating losses like yesterday, and it was not pretty for me neither. Rather than flood CP with more negativity, I just refrained from posting anything.
At this point, there's nothing else we can do as fans but enjoy the rest of the ride, whether it ends tomorrow or continues is beyond our control. I refuse to let sports bring me down. If they lose, they lose. If they somehow can make it out of this hole, I'll be ridiculously happy.
Lets go Flames!

I have faith as I have posted in another thread that these April Flames look exactly like the end of October/beginning of November Flames.
Game against the Rangers they won 4-1 but were dominated (same as the 4-0 game 1 )
Game against the Habs they lost by 1 but were dominated (same as in game 2)
Game against Pittsburgh? Ha! Same as in game 3!!!!
Game against the Caps they lost in SO (game 4 they lose in OT) But in both cases a better effort but not there yet.
Next 2 games against Leafs and Sabres (when they were a top team) Flames beat them.
So that's a 3 and 3 record in those 6 games.
Now for the icing on the cake, the 7th game of that stretch was played against... Drum roll please! Yup, the Avs!!! The game Flames came back from a 4-1 deficit to start the third to win 6-5.
I still Billieve!

Yeah I'll admit I definitely posted a "first round exits is pretty much all I've known of this team for 25 years" thing last night in the heat of the moment, but frankly we've all seen lots of 3-1 series leads get blown over the years. Let's just take it one game at a time and see what happens..
Bennett hitting
Lindholm ripping them
Monahan scoring
Valimaki with a big hit at the blueline and Neal with the finisher. Couldn't write a better way to get back into this series, and it's a dose of déjà vu that will sit heavily in that locker room going back home. Losing Game 5 will leave them with a chance to close it out in Denver... but that could also be their last good chance to close the series out. Game 6 is their do or die, as you can't like their chances in the Saddledome after blowing a 3-1 lead. Friday is ours.
It all rests on this team remembering how they pulled that off and carrying it for 9+ more periods. If anything, that game couldn't have ended soon enough for the Avs... so 9+ more could be torture.
Friday could be one of the best games we've watched as Flames fans. And this roster has left me saying that a few times this season already.
