Cheering for B’s in 4, but expecting more like a 6 game series out of it.

I am going to say Leafs in 7. This year they make the jump to the 2nd round and then lose to TB in the 2nd round.

I don't want that to happen but I think they just have the fire power to do it. This will be the best 1st round series in the east by far IMO.

Boston has a team built for playoff hockey. Defensively strong, great goaltending, solid depth, and some game-breakers on offense. A good defense beats a good offense every time. Even though the Leafs have firepower on their side, they don't defend well and Andersen would have to go in God Mode to give them a chance in this series. That could happen, but I'm taking the battle-tested Bruins in 5. I'll give the Leafs a game because the offense and Andersen can steal a game on any night.

It's a repeat series from last year, here's last year's thread. https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=168143

Similar things are going to happen with the same players such as the Leafs imploding in game 7. Hopefully the Leafs get raked in 5 games this time around.

Leafs in 9.

They'd lose a 7 game series but I'm sure the NHL will find a loophole to get the leafs to at least the second round.

Leafs will outscore their inability to defend at least once.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was an 8 year contract. I was told over and over by TSN and Leaf fans that he was the best coach in the world, and he was the coach to guide them from beginning to end.

Too bad, they can stick with him until the bitter end.

Hoping Boston comes out on this one. I actually like the Leaf's team and players. But their fans are insufferable and deserve to lose in humiliating fashion.

Feels like no one in the media is giving Toronto a chance, not even the always pro-Leaf media in Toronto. Crazy.

I'm going to go with a Toronto upset (?)

Leafs in 7

I think the leafs will take it in 5 or 6 this year.

The Marchand trolling and Rask playing poorly will do them in.

I feel that the odds are stacked against the leafs. If they somehow squeak past the Bruins, they have Tampa in their division next. That is crazy.

This year the teams are closer than their recent history would suggest:
5on5 Score & Venue Adjusted
CF% SCF% HDCF%
Boston: 52.87, 51.92, 51.27
Toronto: 51.72, 53.05, 52.89

All Strengths
CF% SCF% HDCF%
Boston: 52.40, 51.41, 50.75
Toronto: 52.03, 54.19, 54.90

I think this series goes the distance and home ice becomes key. Boston in 7.

Boston really should have beaten Tampa last year, but then came completely unglued with Brad Marchand's antics in Game #2, and were never able to recover. I think they are on a mission this year, and will play in the SCF.

Toronto in Round #1
Tampa in Round #2
Washington or Carolina in Round #3
