Default The day the music burned up

Very disheartening.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I’ve been following this for the past week or so since it came out. Unbelievable so much was lost and Universal kept it secret for over a decade.

Fascinating article. I'm not sure how many people know, but the University of Calgary Archives and Special Collections acquired the EMI Canada music collection a few years ago and are digitizing the masters.

They've been receiving boxes for three years (there are too many to send at once) and there are still more to come. I believe there is still another year to go with the main project.

"The day the music died"...indeed.

Really sad to hear this.

I was wondering if someone would post that article. Interesting read, and it shows just how much more value is placed on money over culture. That should have been a giant story while the building still smoldered, but instead it was buried.

On the other hand, nobody basically noticed until they made it news.
