2022 ALWC: Toronto Blue Jays vs Seattle Mariners
Best of 3 series kicks off Friday at Rogers Center.
A mix of nerves and excitement both surely to build as Friday approaches. There’s nothing else quite like post-season baseball.
Let’s go Jays!!

I would think the Mariners will go with Gilbert/Castillo/Ray as their starters. Kirby is a guy they likely keep on call.
Mariners have good pitching. Very low team batting average but mid pack on base and hit quite a few home runs. Julio and Ty France are the only two hitting above the Jays team batting average who have played in 20 or more games. They have quite a few hard throwing righties who throw sliders and don't walk a lot of guys in the pen. So plate discipline will be important.
45 years after joining the league they finally meet. Maybe next year people in Seattle might buy tickets to try and keep the Jay's fans out of the park. Still spiteful over their 2022 playoffs that lasted all of two games

Being from Vancouver and mostly follow Canucks Twitter it seems I'd say a slight edge to Jays fans I follow over Mariners fans. But I'm officially nervous, don't need those M's fans getting any more cocky.

Normally I'd say the Jays would get the least prime time TV spot, but CLE vs TB isn't setting any ratings records either.
But Phillies Cardinals and Padres Mets will get the prime time action for sure.

I wonder if they go Castillo game 1 and Ray game 2. Jays struggle against lefties and Robbie is they best they have in that department.

I don't have the data in front of me so I'm relying on my memory and what I've seen. But I think it's guys who have change ups and more off speed stuff who tend to trip up the Jay's. Ray being a predominant two pitch guy who is Fastball and slider might match up okay.
Castillo was their best pitcher, although he had some struggles in 3 of his last 4 starts. Gilbert was also good through the season and profiles more as the type the Jay's struggle against with a plus fastball, two other pitches he throws regularly with a slider and changeup.
Who knows though, both teams likely have a strategy to change things up in game 2 depending on who wins game 1. Jay's might go to Stripling if they win game 1 wanting Gausman for a decisive game 3 or to open the next series. So I imagine the Mariners could do the same with Ray if they can win game 1.

But then if you lose game 2 too you never get to use Gausman. If they play Stripling in game 2 after winning game 1 and win they can start Gausman game 1 against the Astros.

Yeah that's what I would do.
Win game 1, it's Stripling in game 2. Honestly he's seeing the order twice and he's likely out unless they're not touching him and you have a bit of a lead. If he blows up...Berrios can come in.
Lose game 1 and it's Gausman to start with Stripling on deck if needed.
I'm not losing in two games having not tried Gausman.

Does anybody know if divisional series tickets Seattle or Toronto are already available? If sold out, would it be safe to purchase these tickets on secondary market (Stub Hub)?

Tickets went on sale a few weeks ago. Secondary market should be safe.

Thanks for info @Jiggy
Unfortunately I’m thinking ticket prices will only go up from here so it might be time to lock it in.
