Baku is always such and entertaining race. Feel just gutted for Bottas. Loved Vettel trying for the win. With his car control he damn near pulled it off...just too hot and missed the apex. And then the flat spot ruined his car.

Verstappen is a complete idiot. Ricciardo gave him so much room every time. He gets paid back by having his nose chopped off twice and Verstappaen nearly wrecking them both. Then goes a third time and gets double moved with no where to go.

I still have no idea how Grosjean smashed the wall. It's like his Haas got caught in a force field and just went straight right. So weird.

That was somehow one of the best and one of the worst races I've watched. I really like Verstappen, but the crap he's pulled lately is ridiculous. Vettel's flub was his own fault, but this is the second race this year where Verstappen's shenanigans have directly or indirectly cost Vettel huge. And today he takes out his own team mate as a bonus.

And FFS, a puncture at the end takes out Bottas, and Hamilton wins. I seriously can't think of a worse result than what happened today. My two favourite guys collide and take each other out, my next fave craps the bed on the restart and drops down to fourth, and the only guy fending off the one guy I can't stand gets a puncture, and it's goddamned Hamilton fluking* his way to victory.

*Yes, I know that you have to be good to be lucky.

Hamilton just showed why you race for every position and never quit. Anything can happen. And total class in not overcelebrating. I was not a fan but I'm starting to like him more and more.

I thought that was quite an entertaining race, the Red Bulls battling it out was great, unfortunately a desperate Verstappen killed the teams day.

Vettel was impatient, there was no way that move was going to work with how deep and fast he was going in. I'm really surprised he didn't wait for drs as he could have kept pace with Bottas. I think the jump Bottas got on the start made Vettel overreach.

I'm not a fan of Baku. It's entertaining because it's chaos but that doesn't make it "good". It's like when you play a game in god mode. All fun for a bit, until you realize the art of the competition is gone.

As Hamilton said at the end, it's more of a lottery here. Hell ,Stroll podiumed last year. That should tell you enough. There is rumour it will be replaced with Miami, possibly as soon as next year. Hope that's true.

Red Bull shot themselves in the foot here though. They should have seen the overcut had a strong effect by that point in the race, and pitted Max first so he wouldn't have come out in front. Big tactical error there.

Not a great way to start the Canadian weekend. I really hope Kimi is innocent in this.

My Telus guide said that race started at 4pm, but TSN is showing Nascar. What gives?

That was the replay you saw scheduled. You can always use the restart feature if you wanna watch the race. Although it was about as boring as Monaco and Spain so maybe you don’t want to watch it. That being said I was happy with the result.

The NASCAR race was delayed due to rain so it's scheduled time ran long. Cecil is right it was really boring. These new rules make for fast cars but boring races. Hopefully next year with the new rules passing will actually happen.

I haven’t been posting much here because the F1 subreddit is pretty good but the race today was so good this thread needs a bump. Amazing last 10 laps. That 4 car Merc/Ferrari train was fun to watch.

Lewis once again tho proving he’s a complete poor sport he is post race. What a scumbag. Always about the fans, except when he gives them a big middle finger because he’s too busy being a crybaby.

That top 4 race after the safety car was some of the best racing I've seen this year.

Also that cool down room scene was so awkward after the race, neither Kimi or Vettel knew what to say to Hamilton.

FIA has confirmed that David Coulthard will do post race interviews because a driver requested Rosberg, who was originally scheduled to do the interviews, be replaced.

Multiple sources say the POS driver was...you guessed it, Lewis Hamilton.

Anyways, hoping for some rain, would make this race very interesting.

Ricciardo to sign with Renault next year. I've only been following F1 intently for a couple of years, but that's surprising, no? Seems like a bit of a backwards step?

Red Bull is going to Honda engines so I think Ric is counting on Renault power coming out ahead. Works teams always have a huge advantage in F1 and Renault as a works team should be on the way up. Hulk and Ric is a great pair.

Also opens the door for Alonso to RBR. Him and Max equals fireworks.
