There are two Texas counties with county judges requesting people shelter in place as the hospitals are full and they are having to send people elsewhere.

Arizona has hit the 90 % of capacity mark on their hospital beds...up from about 70% a month ago. About quarter of those hospitalized with COVID are under 45.

This is all while trying to reopen their economy and very poor compliance with social distancing and PPE. I mourn the present but also what this could become, in short order.
“God’s waiting room” just got a lot shorter holding period.

The death rate is very low relative to the number of cases, I wonder what’s going on:
- virus is losing it virility
- younger patients
- catching more asymptotic people
- better treatments
- cooking the books
- ....

If the hospitals start overflowing the number will ramp up but it’s currently very low compared to the recent sustained positive test rate.

There are a couple of dangers for the Trump campaign in trying to run on Biden's cognitive decline. First would be setting the bar very low that Biden simply not drooling on himself is a win. The other, of course, that Trump's cognitive decline is obviously worse.

Yeah, it's cooking the books. The US has shown that it willing to lie to save face on the death counts.

Yes actually attributing cause of death is a complex process and every region does it differently. I agree with your list but in particular in Florida, there is a lot more dying ‘with COVID’ than ‘from COVID’. And absolutely no presumed cases. The Florida government made these changes about a month back and are now particularly relevant after they took over as COVID epicentre

The problem with simply looking at a hard percentage of if you get it will you die is that it leaves the other critical factor out of the conversation. That is how infectious it is. A highly infectious soemwhat lethal virus is deadlier than a lethal but not very infectious one. Ebola is deadly but it’s too deadly that it does t get time to really spread. Covid appears to be highly infectious and likely more infectious than the flu or pneumonia. It is also more d a droid than those for a good chunk of the population.

Cooking the books...the CDC in the latest things I’ve read seem to be leaning towards Covid causes of death being underreported. Though for a good chunk of the population they don’t seem to grasp any of these things. Oh well that person had cancer so really it’s the cancer than killed him he just had Covid. Well if the death was caused because of covid symptoms and not the spread of cancer at that time it’s a covid death. But it’s amazing how absolutely lacking empathy the heart of Trump country is. They were old. They were sick. Apparently that means it’s not a big deals they were robbed of further days, weeks, months or years with loved ones.

Still using "Make America Great Again"

Isn't that a terrible slogan for the incumbent?

How is noone talking about the Kayne thing??
Like, is he serious? If so, does he run as an independent?
I thought he was buddy buddy with Trump?
Am I dumb for thinking he's serious?
Isn't it a little late to start a campaign?

I have so so so many questions.

I wouldn't take anything that comes out of that guy's mouth seriously. Even if he does run, it won't matter as he would have zero chance of even making a dent. He also has a new album coming out soon, so I assume this is nothing more than a ridiculous publicity stunt to hype the record.

Very difficult to actually get on the ballot in many states, impossible in some at this stage. I suspect a ‘ploy’ to try to redirect votes away from Biden
