Have you participated in a BDSM gang bang? And if so, how does one go about even getting into that kind of thing?

Have you found that attitudes towards BDSM has changed in that time, either more or less accepting?

Have you thought of having your own sponsored section of the forum?

I always tell people that if you're going to choke yourself while masturbating you want to tie a belt around a something low and then "stand up" into the choke. That way if you pass out you fall into safety instead of pulling a Carradine.
Is this common advice or have I unknowingly invented safety protocol?

Here is the obligatory “tell us what could be considered to be the weirdest thing someone has asked you to do to them” or “what is the weirdest scene you’ve encountered “.

Taking bets on which year this thread becomes politically incorrect and unacceptable...

Once, it was a long time in developing (4 months or so,) a couple I had played with it was their fantasy and you have to make sure those you bring into it are people you trust, know and that takes a while.
That's the big thing about the community, its very protective of its members, consent, rules, respect is all incredibly important.

I am genuinely curious what type of personality gets into this kind of thing.
Is it uber powerful CEO's that like to be told what to do?
Girls who like barking orders at guy?
Guys who like ordering girls around?
Like what kind of career background or education do these people have? What's the draw?

Huge, mostly good, but what has been dubbed the 50 Shades of Grey effect has been mostly bad. That movie is awful, its basically the opposite of what real BDSM is, considering consent is the #1 rule.
It has unfortunately flooded fetlife.com which has been up until a few years ago pretty great, now it's full of thirsty idiots who treat women, mostly the submissives like whores.
Just to give you an idea, the most common rule in contacting women or men you want to play with, is no kink talk (discussion of what you like is fine), just friendly get to know you stuff, then eventually coffee either just you two or during a weekly "munch" (friendly kinkster coffee night get together).
Only then does it go any further. Sadly all these new people who think 50 shades is BDSM jump onto fet and push a lot of good people, especially the submissives, DDlg (daddy little girl) women, etc..

Often, I'm 45 and have a reputation as a Daddy Dom, which is basically someone who makes the girl feel like she is safe, protected, loved, mentorship basically.
A great story I tell is at one public BDSM event where there is tying up, whipping, etc, no sex ever though, there was a young woman who showed up with this foreign guy, clearly quite liquored up. Immediately the elder community noticed them, a few of the women went over talked to her, while a few of the guys talked to the guy.
It became clear this was not ok, partly because drinking at public events is not ok unless its a beer or two since you have to have your mental faculties if you are going to use whips, flogs, paddles, clamps, etc...
What they did is threw him out, and took care of the girl, made her feel safe, welcome, loved and a couple later took her home to make sure she was ok.
I'd say if a person joins a local fetlife community, attends events like classes, rope jams, etc, they are very likely to stay. Sadly if their experience as new people is just online, I'm certain many are pushed away.
